I Visited This Facility

Arcadia Place was very nice and quite active. They furnished transportation to everything and the meals, which is included in their price. They would accept my dog even though she is way over the weight that they prefer. The apartments were small, but that's to be expected, so I'm in the process of downsizing. It's a very nice place, and they were very nice to me. If I had to move right now, I would move there.

I visited Arcadia. The personnel were very friendly, it was very clean, and well-organized. I was impressed that they had medical staff on hand; that was a very important part to me. They play cards, visit with one another, and do other social activities. They do laundry, they clean the apartment, and they change the beddings.

Arcadia Place was excellent and very pleasant. They had programs, a weight room, and a TV room. They had projects in town where people could go, and a bus, too. They served three meals a day. You can go to a dining room, sit at a table, and a waiter would come and take your orders. On site, they had a barbershop and a cleaning team. The cleaning team was not part of the contract, but they're available on site to assist you if you're willing to pay for it. Once a week, the organization did your linens and your bath towels. They also had laundry service. The staff was very helpful.

We really liked Arcadia, it was marvelous. The environment and location are nice and the staff was wonderful. They bent over backwards and really wanted us to come there. The food was good and they had a lot of activities for the residents. It was very desirable and was more affordable than any place we've seen.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

When I moved into Arcadia in 2014- it was absolutely beautiful. The managers Shawn, David and their wives were so kind. (Can't remember their names) Very poor quality of food. There was no nutritionist onboard so the meals were very unbalanced and unhealthy. My little dog was so welcome at the beginning, then a resident came crying to me that it was just announced in a meeting that dogs were not aloud in public places only to quickly pass by to go back to your room or towards the exit. A lot of changes started happening. There were alot of people who were paralyzed or had dementia, but their was no healthcare available from 7:00pm until 7:00 am. There are plenty of other places that are healthier and offer much more assistance if needed.

Terrible food. Am sure it does not meet minimum standards for what nutrition is required for seniors. I became anemic within six weeks of arrival. They have an independent company to assist people who need it. Unfortunately, only a minimum exact time is allowed per person. If the job is not done - too bad they must move on to the next person. There is a one month NON REFUNDABLE deposit paid in advance. There is no limit on how much or how often then can raise your rent. I had too sign up immediately - even thoughI was not going to be there for another 3 weeks after my lease began. This was to hold the price on my unit at $1,765 (which is the least expensive and is approximately 400 s.f. There is also a minimum of 3 months that you must stay before you can leave. In other words, I paid over $7,000 for an small studio and for substandard food. The price of that unit it now priced at over $2200 per month. I left before my 3 months was up. Was also told that they had it rented and I would get some money back. That never happened. If they did not have such a good sales staff they would have many more vacant units than they do now. They are not required to be licensed by anyone and their health department rating or the kitchen was removed. You were allowed one hour to eat at which time they started clearing the tables - if you were finished or not. If you were five minutes late you were often told they were out of whatever the first course was. The managers were very nice - however very ineffective. It did not seem that the corporate offices cared what was happening a the bottom levels. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
