Sunrise of Bellevue is a lovely community with nice and wonderful people. My recollection was that I actually thought it was the place for my mother. However, the pricing of the rooms was higher than the community, but the prices for the care was comparable. If not for the fact that the prices for her room would be higher, I would have chosen this place because it's a beautiful community.
Worst memory care I've seen. The staff rush the resident through the day due to the fact that there is no kitchen aide to help with meals the staff are in charge of it all so residents suffer. Full plates of food are taken away no assistance is provided so that the resident gets to eat. On top of that the staff are responsible for all laundry which takes away from resident care. Also all residents room doors are locked all day. The residents wonder aimlessly all day. The halls aren't in view of staff at all times. It's a maze of halls which is poor planning for good resident care. Very sad to be here and see it all.

My mother was here less than a year. The overall experience was a disaster. The management and staff turnover is huge. Services that are listed on their website and in their activity calendar are on paper only, they don't actually happen. Management does not care what families think when they try to provide feedback. Nothing ever changes. The doors lock at 7pm, so when you happen to be out later, you have to wait (in the winter, in the dark) for up to 15 minutes for a staff person to let you in. They refuse to give residents keys. It's also very expensive. Don't go here.
This place is too crowded and they treat their seniors like animals. They force them to stay in their rooms during certain times of the day. They use threats to keep the seniors in line. This place is a nightmare and unfortunately my grandma had to endure this place for 2 years before she finally had the courage to tell me how bad it really was. Stay far away from this place it is horrible

On paper, Sunrise of Bellevue looks almost perfect. Their sales staff are very nice and welcoming. However after living there many months, my family can tell you that what you read and are told is not what you get. The services, the outings, the amenities are all "the demo version" only, it's not what really happens there. Staff turnover is super high. There is no consistency or follow through. But they are all very nice.
With the feel of a large bed and breakfast, residents can feel instantly comfortable and at-home here. This is an assisted living building, and the apartments are intended to serve as private sleeping quarters. Planned and impromptu activities are always occurring. Residents are engaged and encouraged to participate. Many family members and visitors create a good energy that can be felt at the front door. Staff act more like extended family, serving people in a friiendly and service-oriented manner.
