I visited this facility

Everything at The Phoenix at Dunwoody looked really nice. They had a lot of amenities like exercises and memory care. The staff member who accommodated me during the tour was excellent. The room I saw in the community was a studio, but they also have other options available (although I didn't look at them). They have activities and games like throwing a balloon around among the residents. I talked to one guy who was mopping the floor and he was also nice. The layout of the place was also good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We ended up moving our mother into Brighton Gardens of Dunwoody, which is a Sunrise community. So far it's been good, and she's enjoying it. They're meeting her needs and the price is affordable, so it seems to be a good match. Her room there is small, but we kind of knew that going into it. They have activities like bingo, reading, movies, and they have outings that I have been told about. Their dining area is nice. It looked good. They have a small courtyard which is nice, the overall layout seems fine, and the people are all very pleasant, which is the biggest factor. The staff has been good. She's enjoying the food there, although I haven't experienced it firsthand.

My mother is in Dunwoody Pines. It has been pretty good for her, I think she has enjoyed it, and it seemed like a good community. They're upgrading their facility now, and all their apartments are being refreshed as they are being vacated and filled again. She has been in one unit and they're moving her to another unit that has been refurbished. It's been good. They have group activities, they play games, they have some artistic stuff, she has gone on a couple of field trips, and I think they have bingo. She seems to be pretty active. It's been pretty clean, smells good, and it's a good facility. The food could be better, with a better variety and better quality.

We found Brighton Gardens of Dunwoody to be homey-looking. The one-bedroom apartments are pretty spacious, and so far we've been pretty happy with the care my mother-in-law is getting there. She doesn't want to participate in the activities, but the activities director always encourages her to join. They have a walking group in the mornings and afternoons and exercise programs where most of the clients use a chair to do exercises. They also have sing-alongs, ice cream socials, card club, bridge club, and some other type of games like puzzles. They also take the residents out to eat once a week at different restaurants right around the area, and go on little outings to some of the art galleries or shopping at Walmart. There's also a nice library with a lot of books, and they play games to keep the mind active. Everybody I've met there was friendly and helpful.

I visited this facility

I visited Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community. The first apartment the staff showed me was too tiny, and I didn't like that. There was no dining room. I thought it was a lovely place, I really liked the staff who took me around, and the next apartment she showed me was better.

I visited this facility

I loved Dunwoody Pines. The apartments were comfortable and a little small but very nice. They had wonderful activities and a wonderful person in charge. They had a wonderful lecture on the Great Gasby and everybody dressed up in Roaring '20s clothes. They had buffets, cocktails, jazz guitarists, and a speaker. They had balloon volleyball for people who can't move around a lot and card games. They go shopping and to the theater, and every Thursday they go out to an activity. The food was outstanding, the best I have tried. Everybody loved it. The staff was friendly, talked to you, and seemed to get along. The place was diverse with men and women. I met a wonderful Korean family, and they have African-Americans and Caucasians. It's a very nice mixture. The place also had a wonderful atmosphere.
