My mother is in Dunwoody Pines. It has been pretty good for her, I think she has enjoyed it, and it seemed like a good community. They're upgrading their facility now, and all their apartments are being refreshed as they are being vacated and filled again. She has been in one unit and they're moving her to another unit that has been refurbished. It's been good. They have group activities, they play games, they have some artistic stuff, she has gone on a couple of field trips, and I think they have bingo. She seems to be pretty active. It's been pretty clean, smells good, and it's a good facility. The food could be better, with a better variety and better quality.
I visited Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community. The first apartment the staff showed me was too tiny, and I didn't like that. There was no dining room. I thought it was a lovely place, I really liked the staff who took me around, and the next apartment she showed me was better.
I loved Dunwoody Pines. The apartments were comfortable and a little small but very nice. They had wonderful activities and a wonderful person in charge. They had a wonderful lecture on the Great Gasby and everybody dressed up in Roaring '20s clothes. They had buffets, cocktails, jazz guitarists, and a speaker. They had balloon volleyball for people who can't move around a lot and card games. They go shopping and to the theater, and every Thursday they go out to an activity. The food was outstanding, the best I have tried. Everybody loved it. The staff was friendly, talked to you, and seemed to get along. The place was diverse with men and women. I met a wonderful Korean family, and they have African-Americans and Caucasians. It's a very nice mixture. The place also had a wonderful atmosphere.
When I began seeking for a "senior community wherein I could live, I began praying according to Proverbs 3:526 and visiting several such homes. I do believe God answered my prayer by letting me find Dunwoody Pines. Ed + Mona plus all staff members really seem to want the very best for each of us who have settled in. I'd like to thank each of the staff for their attitude toward me and their willingness to help each of us!!
1. I have taken advantage of all the exercise classes offered here - 5 days weekly. 2. The activities here are varied - beading, book club, woman's club, welcoming committee, poker, Mahjongg, men's club, bridge, Scrabble, much more. 3. I help in giving back to society - clothing drive, toys for kids, food drive, goodies for firemen, etc.
Our activity director works hard to ensure residents have a full calendar of activities and it's great to hear you have been able to take advantage this feature at Dunwoody Pines. If you have suggestions for additional fitness, social, or charity events, please know, your feedback is always welcome.
Quality of food is very good but limited because of Corporate Headquarters limited funding. Quality of health care is regulated by a separate entity and can be very costly for those needing that assistance. Maintenance is excellent.
Thanks for you feedback, Shirley. While it seems like you are happy with our dining menus, please let us know if you have any suggestions to help us make your dining experience even better.
After a long, and sometimes exhausting search for a facility for my parents, Art Sr. & Gerri and Aunt Sara, I found Dunwoody Pines. My parents are both wheelchair bound, but are very self-sufficient. I found the staff at Dunwoody Pines very inviting and welling to help with our needs. The location is in a very "Senior friendly" neighborhood with very light traffic. The facility has a very open feel to it, but the residents all seem like family. There are many weekly activities for the residents and my parents are fully engaged in the daily events. My mother attends weekly Tai Chi sessions and my father is "The Bingo King", as he would tell it. The facility has a on-site 3rd party nursing/personal care company, that is well staffed. The facility has visiting Doctors, (not part of the Dunwoody staff), but are very convenient. My mother looks forward to the weekly church services and movie night. My parents both LOVE Dunwoody Pines and the staff. My parents look forward to each and every day at "The Pines".
I have been a bingo volunteer caller for 4 years. And it is always a very pleasant highlight of my week.
We are very blessed to have staff that is helpful, caring and sees to our needs and plans special things for special events. We have to many gravies and rich roods for people our age and for diebetics.
The staff is wonderful in every way, professional, friendly, caring. I am so glad that I chose Dunwoody Pines.
I love the "atrium" style bldg. plan which leads to the true feel of "community" at Dunwoody Pines. My mother lived here 17 years and the facility provides engagement, care and concern for its residents at any stage of this live experience. The Apartments feel like a real home setting - just what older residents expect. A very fine place.
My mother was a resident at Dunwoody Pines in Atlanta Georgia for eight months. I cannot say enough great things about this retirement community, and the staff there. They all went out of their way to get her involved in activities, even though she had no desire to do so - yet, they didn't give up, because they knew she needed socialization. The activities program is varied and fun! The food was so good, and for the first time in years, she was able to put on weight. The staff and management checked on her frequently, more than I would have expected. The on-site CNA staff (TriMark) took their cue from Dunwoody Pines, and did a great job as well. The attitude of the place is so positive. I only wish my mother had moved in earlier, she may have had an easier time socializing. But she was grateful to be there, and as her child, I was so relieved to have her in excellent, capable hands. Thank you Dunwoody Pines!
After looking at a number of retirement facilities, on April 1, 2011 I moved to Dunwoody Pines. I have been extremely happy with my decision. The management and staff are all great people dedicated to one thing and that is caring for the residents. The facility is great, clean and well maintained. Our activity director has so many things going on it’s sometimes hard to decide which one to participate in. Location, Location, Location, what can I say. We are located just minutes from a Kroger shopping center, minutes from banking, beauty shops, cleaners, barber shop, exercise facility, Chinese food, and the list goes on. The facility is also located near two major hospitals and a number of doctor’s offices. In my opinion you could not make a better decision then to come to Dunwoody Pines.
My parents have lived at Dunwoody Pines for over four years and all aspects of senior living have worked together wonderfully. The staff is extremely cordial and helpful at all times. There are so many different activities going on all the time, but the residents are not "pressured" to participate, unlike other senior communities. Residents can pick and choose their activities based on their personal interests. The chef-prepared food is always nutritionally balanced, made from scratch, and has tremendous variety so the residents have menu choices. Obviously, with my parents living here for four years, they are happy, too. We wholeheartedly recommend Dunwoody Pines!
My Dad and recently passed Mom have been there about 2 years plus. I really like the facility as management is very accessible and is pro resident. I have never had any issues and management has been over accomodating. It is nice to know that people who care, look out for my Dad. There are care services you can buy in small blocks of time, which helps with cost budgeting. It is great to know that my parent's could live (now Dad) in a community that allows for independant living with many services included at a very reasonable price.
I have had a chance to meet and discuss care and services with the directors and Trimark staff and am confident in their services for the residents I know. I have helped refer persons over, and will continue to in the future.
