As a current client, when I heard that someone from Right at Home was taking me to surgery, staying there, and then making sure I get home safely, I was so relieved. It was a big thing for me. They started off being caregivers for my husband. They were here 24 hours a day for him on different shifts. Basically, they did a marvelous job of taking care of him. Now, they're taking me for anything that I need. I had to go through cataract surgery and they were taking me to the doctor's for that, whether it be for the surgery or for the appointment. Also a caregiver is here doing housework for me. I have multiple sclerosis, so I'm somewhat handicapped myself. She does my housework, she changes the bed, she does the floors, she does the bathroom, and she keeps my kitchen clean. She is very compassionate and very helpful. They're very good. I don't have any problems at all.

We chose Brookdale Lake Tavares because it was reasonable, we get everything, and the room is spacious. Were impressed, the people were very good, and answered all our questions. We ate there and it was very good, the 2-bedroom, and 1-bedroom was very nice, and I couldnt find any negatives. The building was 40 years old, a lot of the rooms were renovated, but its very sturdy and presentable. We will be moving there.

I toured Brookdale Lake Tavares, and it seemed like it would be a nice place. The staff was very helpful and very nice. The dining area looked nice. The room seemed accommodating, and better than some Ive read about.

I'm using Right at Home Lake and Sumter Counties. They're doing fine, they send people when I want them, and we have had no problems. They responded the fastest of the three agencies I called. The caregivers are very good, prompt, and helpful. They help my fiancée since she had a stroke and cannot walk by herself. They transfer her from wheelchair or walk with her if she wants to walk.

Osprey Lodge was very expensive and the rooms were not much better than my mother's room. She has a lot more room where she is, but it's a beautiful facility. They have music going on and they have some beautiful community areas, but if you're in a less secure unit, you can't have access to them anyway. It was well-maintained, and the residents were very well taken care of. I saw two gardens there.

My visit with Brookdale Lake Tavares was very good. The room they showed us was nice. It was a nice facility. They showed us the dining room and the library. They go on outings. It was family oriented, and they have things for people to do. It was very clean and the people seemed happy there. The staff member was very nice and answered all my questions.

Overall, Right at Home has been very responsive to what our needs are for cooking meals, doing laundry, going to the bathroom, and changing clothes. I would rate the day service a 4 and night service a 2. I worry more about night. I want to make sure they're available if my mom needs help, and we've had a lot of people fall asleep, and my mom ends up not getting any help. I call and give feedback and they take action. It happens a lot. They're good during the day, and just OK at night. If the caregiver's not available, they always have somebody there, so they're reliable and dependable. They should find people who don't fall asleep at night.

I stayed at Osprey Lodge, and it was OK, but they don't have anything physical for older people besides walking. It can be cleaner, especially with housekeeping, because they don't dust and really get behind everything. They have singing. The staff members were fine, they did their job, they did it well, and they were courteous. However, the nursing help was rude and not very accommodating.

My parents-in-law are in Osprey Lodge, but I'm not happy with it. The place is beautiful, but the nursing is terrible and the communication between nurses and the familes are awful. Their apartments are really nice, but the care is not good. They have lots of activities like music, games, and transportation. The food is terrible.
