My father is in Carlton Senior Living Downtown Pleasant Hill. It's pretty and lively. It seems like they have some good activities going on. I've been there at least once a week for the past couple of months. Sometimes their staff is a little condescending and not entirely understanding of old people. They sometimes treat them like children and tell them what to do. Most staff members are very good, though. The meals are not terrible, but there are definitely places where it's better. It's overpriced.
Carlton Senior Living Downtown Pleasant Hill is very nice and a newer facility. The staff was great and the rooms were very nice, big, and clean. The residents looked happy, very clean, and were put together very well.
The Chateau III in Pleasant Hill is a wonderful place for its residents. It has a total of 143 units, 24 of which are memory care units, which are shared suites. All of the Chateau senior living communities are and have been family owned. They offer all-day dining, as well as a 24/7 café in which the residents can help themselves to snacks. They have Monday and Friday happy hours, as well as on Weds., if there is a special event. The Chateau III offers a large beauty salon that offers hair care, nail care, and has a "general store" there for other beauty needs. They also have an on-site physical therapy room, most important for residents who have just left a facility where they have physical therapy needs.Each unit has a small refrigerator, sink, and microwave, but residents need to pay for cable and phone charges. There are weekly "field" trips to dining/shopping, etc., as well as exercise classes daily. There are several places throughout the facility that they can access free WiFi. There are also 2 lovely garden areas, and ample parking for visitors. Lastly, the Chateau III is very close to downtown Pleasant Hill, which offers dining choices and a 16 theatre movie experience.The staff was most helpful and I highly recommend the Chateau III to any future resident.
My entire experience at Chateau III was great from my beginning phone call to Alison Wall, Sales Manager. She was very friendly and helpful in setting up an appointment that was convenient for me, not for her. Alison was very professional, knowledgeable and willing to accommodate special needs. When I arrived at my appointment, she was expecting me and made me feel welcome. We sat down and reviewed the things that were important to me and then we took a tour of the beautiful community. I observed a very active atmosphere where the residents were engaged in different activities all with smiles on their faces. I met the vocational nurse who was very informative and interested in finding out from me what I was looking for. I was introduced to every staff member that we passed and was impressed with their involvement with the residents. I asked a few residents how their dining experience was and they had nothing but great things to say about the variety and quality of food that is offered on a consistent basis.
