I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility

Monticello West is an older building. It is located downtown. I lived there for about a year. It was a nice place; however, it was too expensive for me. Also, there was a large number of people that were mentally incapable. They treated you like a hospital patient. Many of their people were unable to care for themselves, and as a result, their activities were much simpler. I wouldn't rate Monticello West high, but it was satisfactory.

I Visited This Community

Monitcello West, an older single building community located conveniently in Dallas, shows its age. The dining areas and multipurpose rooms are cluttered, with little to no room to manage multiple wheelchairs and canes. The furniture, while somewhat old and out of style, appears sturdy but not entirely clean. The walls are scuff-marked and the elevators floors are sticky and dirty.

The Benefits of a Break

It's important to recognize that taking a break from providing care can be a positive step for both the caregiver and their loved one. Short-Term Stays are perfect when family caregivers are away on a vacation or business trip or just need a short break from caring for the senior in their life.

Short-Term Stays are also an option for seniors who want the extra security of additional assistance during an illness or while recuperating. Many of our permanent residents decided to move into Monticello West after experiencing life here during a Short-Term Stay.

Our Short-Term Stay residents are able to experience many of the benefits of Monticello West. One of these benefits are three delicious, well-balanced meals served daily in an elegant dining room featuring a variety of menu choices and snacks that are available throughout the day. They can also join in a range of social, educational, devotional, and recreational programs including scheduled group trips to local restaurants and stores. Dedicated, well-trained team members are available 24-hours a day to provide personal assistance with daily needs which may include bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, assistance with eating, mobility, medication management and more.
