I visited this facilityReview of Montclair Royale

The staff at Montclair Royale showed me what room Mom would have had, and it's with another lady. I was very impressed with the dining room, which was very nice looking. They had pretty areas like an open garden in the interior part of the complex. They had an assigned seating place in the dining area. The rooms were bigger than I expected them to be. The outdoor area was landscaped very nicely.

My friend was at Montclair Royale. The room was very nice. They provided food, shelter, and hospice care. They had community activities, but they also had the standard things. There was a salon and a chapel. The food was fine. The staff was excellent.

I visited this facilityReview of Montclair Royale

I visited Montclair Royale, but I wasn't impressed at all. It's dated, very dark, and run-down and didn't seem very clean. The people are very nice, but it's not a place where I would want to live. They had an activities room with a TV and a bingo game going on when I was there. They also take the residents out once a week. The person who gave me the tour was nice.

I like that Montclair Royale is closer to my place and is priced better. It's an assisted living place, and the staff seems to be good and does a professional job. They have a dining room, a salon, and there's rec room with a TV where they hold events. They don't allow any cooking in the individual rooms so there are no electrical appliances. It's pretty basic but they do supply some things, like the bed and whatnot. The people seem to be relatively attentive, but I heard other people complain about the food. They have exercise classes every morning, bible studies, and other little meetings. I don't think they take them out on tours of any kind outside of the building, but they do take you to doctors' appointments, which is nice.

Mom has lived at Montclair Royale for two years now. It is a nice place, very comfortable, clean, and the staff is very pleasant. She's in memory care, and they just started having better activities than in the past. She has a shared room, which is spacious with walk-in closets. I don't like that they have an activity room that is not big enough for the number of residents. They have a very small television for that room. They also do not have a big enough staff to patient ratio. Although they do as much as they can, there are too many clients.

The person that gave me the tour of Montclair Royale was very informative. Everyone there seemed to be happy. The only thing is, they said that they’d get back to me if they were able to work with my budget, and they never did. The place looks clean, they have a big dining area and a smaller room upstairs that serves as a TV room, and they were doing activities with the patients in another room.
