Atria Carmichael Oaks was a very nice place. It was very warm, homey, and the people there were really nice and accommodating. They answered all my questions, and I'm very satisfied with the tour. We were interested in their studios and one-bedroom apartments, but my uncle said he'd rather have a studio because he has COPD and doesn't want to do a lot of walking. The rooms looked brand new, they were freshly painted, and everything was clean. Their dining room has large windows so you can see the nature and all the vegetation when the warm weather comes, and that was very nice because he likes nature. Allison was very patient and very delightful. I also met Kimberly in the hallway, and she helped me get all the information that I needed, so they're all great.
Atria Carmichael Oaks is an older place. The staff is really nice, but the place needs an update. It needs refurbishing. The size is OK, but it is very outdated. The carpeting and appliances are too old. I really can't be fair about any of my answers because I didn't see everything. I just only went up into the main portion but they wouldn't let you go into the courtyards or anything. It seemed clean. It was hard to tell because the furnitures are all pushed up against the wall and you're not allowed to go in the cafeteria, the restaurant, the grounds, and so on.
I toured the assisted living side of Atria Carmichael Oaks. It was very clean, the food was exceptionally good, and it was very nice. There wasn't anything negative I could say about it other than that it costs so much to live there. The person who gave me the tour was a very nice person and she answered all my questions. If I were to pick one place, that would be where I would go. The person who accommodated us answered everything I asked, she was beyond helpful, nice, and all-around she was perfect for her job. They have activities every day. There's a whole paper that they have where you can see what kind of activities you want to do. They have exercises, crafts, they go outside and tour places, and they just do all kinds of things. It's probably the nicest senior community I saw.
My dad stayed at Atria Carmichael Oaks for about two years in independent living. They vacuumed and tidied up his apartment. They have barbeques, exercise routines, music, dances, games, and clubs.
