Description of Interurban Senior Living
A brand-new apartment community in the heart of Seattle's Bitter Lake neighborhood, Interurban Senior Living offers active seniors high-quality retirement living at a price they can afford. Built on the site of Seattle's beloved Playland amusement park right off of the Interurban Trail, our central location offers easy access to Carkeek Park, Northgate Mall and Northwest Hospital.
Interurban Senior Living is owned and operated by the Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG), a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating quality, affordable rental housing for seniors. SHAG has been serving mature adults across the Puget Sound region from Bellingham to Olympia since 1988.
Apartments are available in a selection of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. All homes are pet friendly and come with ample storage, window dressings and a full kitchen with modern amenities, including a dishwasher. Select apartments also feature washer and dryer hook-ups, patios or balconies.
Our access-controlled building boasts a number of spacious common areas including a business center, media room, fitness center, bocce ball court and library. Our spectacular rooftop deck features mountain views as well as a grilling area, pea patch planters and a pet park.
Our community van is available to transport residents to scheduled events. Residents also have access to a Nissan electric leaf that they can reserve for personal use. The community has an active events calendar. Residents are encouraged to submit their activity ideas to the community manager, who conveniently lives right on site.
As a SHAG community, we are dedicated exclusively to serving low-income seniors. To become a resident at Interurban Senior Living, applicants must be 55 years or older with at least one member of the household aged 61 years or older by the end of the current year or be disabled. At Interurban Senior Living, a single person may earn a maximum of $36,420 per year. A two-person household may earn up to $41,640 per year.
At Interurban Senior Living, the only hard part about keeping an active schedule is finding the time to fit it all into your day!
