I visited this facility

I visited The Heritage at Hunters Chase and they were really great. I saw some of the seniors in action. I saw them taken to get snacks with the staff and the custodians helping them. They were courteous and friendly. The residents were being given respect. It was nice. The staff were soft-spoken and very caring. The lady I toured with was Audrey. She was so friendly, she took the time, and she even called back. The room I saw was a 1-bedroom but it had a half wall, so you could see an alcove. Since it's for two people it would have worked. I noticed that the facility was very clean, too.

I visited this facility

We went to Rocky Hollow Lake. We were impressed, but the one concern that my husband had was that he didn't feel like it was as clean as he would like it to be. I know that they were also doing some construction, but I don't know if it's just because of the construction they were doing or if that's an "all the time" thing. Otherwise, we were very impressed with the facility. They only have single rooms; it's like what I would call an "efficiency apartment." When you walk in, there is a kitchenette where my sister-in-law would have a refrigerator. I can't remember if there was a microwave or not, but there's also a sink, and then a little peninsula that could be used as a dining table. It also had some cabinets. It's one large room, maybe thirteen feet by seventeen feet or something like that. It had a bath to the side with a walk-in shower, a toilet, a sink, and two closets for clothing. We were not as impressed with the showers in the rooms; they're a bit old. We were very impressed with the staff, too. They had a dining area where they ate and did some activities. They have a couple of courtyards where you can go out and sit. They have been doing activities regularly. They have had people coming in to sing and things like that, but right now it's COVID so things are different.

I visited this facility

My friend is moving to Parkwood Meadows. We picked it because it's the same exact layout as the place she's in right now; the place must be owned by the same people. When she goes out of her room, the dining room is exactly where it is in the other place. It's the same with the front desk and the activity center, so she won't have any problem adjusting. They have daily activities. She has a patio where she can sit, and she can walk around the facility. She's eighty-eight so she doesn't do a whole lot, but she enjoys just being with people so it's going to be good. The people were fabulous there. They're very easy to deal with, they got her signed up, it all worked really well. The facility was clean, very nice, and very well taken care of. The rooms were all clean, so I was very impressed.

I visited this facility

I visited Parkwood Meadows. I was accommodated very well. It was very pleasant. The staff did a good job of taking us around and answering questions. It wasn't necessarily run down, but it didn't have a modern upbeat look either. We know that they're dealing with COVID and all of that kind of thing. I did not notice anything because I don't have really good eyesight, but I felt like it was a little outdated; it was a little more of a nursing home feeling than independent living. That's not because I saw people there or not; it's just a feeling I had. The apartments were not modern looking, and the heating system was not new. The apartment was a little outdated but roomy. The staff was very friendly, very informative, very honest about everything, and followed up with me very quickly, and I appreciated that.

I am/was a resident of this facility

It's been a month and a half since I have moved into The Clairmont. It's a very nice place. The hitch is all this COVID quarantine thing that we're all in. Nobody is allowed to do anything. Austin is completely on lockdown, so we are as well. I like my studio very much, it is lovely, and it's a good size. The grounds here are very nice, and the food is good. I am very pleased with it, but the biggest reason we chose this place is because it's the closest place to my daughter. The staff is very friendly here. There's no activity at the moment, but it's got nothing to do with The Clairmont. They normally have those, but we've been under quarantine since I got here. They have a beauty shop here where I had my haircut, and they did a good job. They have an exercise room with lovely equipment. The grounds are very nice. I have two little dogs and I have walked the grounds with them quite a bit. They're very friendly to animals here. They also let me paint my studio, so I had it with the color I wanted and I thought that was very nice. I'm very bad with names, but the staff here seems to know all of the residents. The residents also seem to know all of the staff. It's a very friendly community. The food is a little bland, but then it's for seniors, so I just add spices to it. It's well-cooked though, and it has a good variety.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am resident of The Clairmont. I feel at home here. It's a very friendly place, and you get all your meals served. Your room is cleaned once a week. They have a lot of activities. I do not do too much of the activities; I am not well enough. But they have a lot of activities, they have a bus, and they go places. They have been doing bridge and all sorts of things, musicals, and they're bringing people in and everything. It's very nice. I like it. The room I have now is a studio. I was in an apartment, but I've got a studio now and I like it very much. My courtyard is beautiful. We have a patio and there is a beautiful courtyard with flowers. It is so cool. They have a beauty salon. There are plenty of activities, but it is independent living, and the food is very good. You get three meals a day. It comes with the lease, you know, the food. The place is very clean, and if somebody moves, they redo the rooms completely; new flooring, cabinets, and everything.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We've been fairly happy with The Heritage at Hunters Chase. We're pretty happy with the staff and the response to our concerns. It's very clean and they have a lot of activities. My friend loves the dining room. She has a 1-bedroom apartment, a nice large bathroom, and it's very roomy and lovely. They have studios as well, which were nicer and roomier than the other facilities we looked at. The dining room is lovely. They have a series of classes, and they bring in professors and teachers from outside. They have daily exercise classes, bingo, and movies. The residents seem quite proactive. There's a beautiful courtyard, and it's very secure.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My aunt is at The Heritage at Hunters Chase. I was impressed by how I was given the tour and everything else they did in the very beginning. They highly recommend that she go down to the dining room for both lunch and dinner. It's a nice place, they have nice people, and they're doing good things. The food is pretty good. For locations that have to cook food for a lot of people they do a good job.

I visited this facility

The Delaney was really nice, but it was too expensive, and that was the main drawback. It was all nice, we saw a 2-bedroom and a 2-bath, which was what we would have wanted, and the staff that we met was nice. We ate there, it was good, and we enjoyed it. They have a small library and an activities room. The building was fairly new, probably three years old, but still nice.
