Description of The Auberge at The Woodlands
The Auberge at the Woodlands is located in The Woodlands, TX. This master-planned community was incorporated in 1974 as a suburb of neighboring Houston and had just over 12,000 seniors aged 65 and older as of the 2010 census. Summer temperatures peak in the 90s while winter lows stay well above freezing, so it's an ideal location for seniors who enjoy the heat and like to get outside all year.
Residents at the Auberge at the Woodland can choose two different styles of private apartments as well as companion suites and semi-private apartments. This facility is focused specifically on memory care, and the residential areas are designed to support those with Alzheimer's and dementia. Staff at this facility provide support through Auberge's signature Spark program. It's based on the Montessori educational model and keeps residents engaged and fulfilled with special tools, including biography boards and memory boxes.
This facility's backyard offers an ideal place to sit and relax under clusters of tall evergreen and hardwood trees. Brick walking paths lead to a central gazebo, several sitting areas and a playground for visiting grandchildren. Card games and gardening are highlights during activity time and residents also have access to transportation for off-campus outings and appointments.
