Brookdale Las Vegas

My visit to Brookdale was good. It was very warm, inviting, and the rooms were very spacious. We didn't see as many people sitting around, but the staff was wonderful, and it was reasonable. It seemed like they only had one room available, and it was not enough to make my mom more productive. The girl behind the desk and the director were so entertaining and had high energy when they gave us the tour.

Brookdale Las Vegas was good. When we talked about setting a mailbox because my father likes to get mail, they were accommodating. Also, since my father is deaf, they wanted to learn about some signs to use for him for sign language. The manager that we talked to was very qualified and experienced. My sister was very impressed with the staff. The ambience was much better, but it seemed busy.

Brookdale is OK. My father is there. They don't always have the alarms on their doors. The food is OK. I don't see the housekeeping staff, and I change his bed twice a week, vacuum, and clean his bathroom. The rooms are adequate, the employees are very nice, and the residents seem happy. They have a garden area and gazebo which is very nice, but the sidewalks have a gap which needs to be repaired because two people have already fallen. They need to improve on cleanliness and safety features.

Brookdale Las Vegas was a much older facility, but the staff was so sweet, and so kind. It needed a huge makeover, the colors were kind of dark, it seemed too dark for me, and the rooms were very small. It would have been fine for one person, but to put 2 people in there would be too tight and too close quarters.

It would cost $555 to distribute my mother's medication each month at Brookdale Las Vegas. The room was small for the price, and they didn't have much available. They showed me a room that she'd have to share and it had no closet. The other room was private, but it was pretty small. There's no flat flee, and the nurse has to diagnose what the resident needs; you can't decide for yourself. It was so expensive. They were remodeling the place, so it was clean. They had a wing for Alzheimer's, and the residents were locked up. They had an activity room, a movie theater, a craft room, and a nice dining room.

Brookdale Las Vegas was not a good place at all. I wouldn't want anyone that I know to ever have to end up there. I was there during mealtime and the few that I spoke to were not happy there. The food looked very bad and the residents in the dining room were complaining about the food, the staff, and the rooms. The place was rundown and not taken care of, and the staff was subpar. I didn't see an activity room. They didn't have any community room, exercise or gym, TV room, or theater. They wanted to put two people in each room, and if you wanted to have one room by yourself, you're going to pay double the price that they show. The shared room was tiny, and they just put two beds in there and charged double. It was a bad situation there.

We visited Brookdale, and I was underwhelmed. The staff wasn't friendly, the place looked dirty, and they didn't know we had an appointment. I'm not impressed with the facilities. They have no uniforms. They were working, and just wearing what they wanted to wear.
