VA Aid and Attendance Benefits and Housebound Allowance VA pension recipients who suffer from a disability, chronic illness or mental impairment may be eligible for an additional monthly benefit through either the Aid and Attendance benefit or Housebound allowance program. 
<li>To qualify for Aid and Attendance benefits, a senior veteran or their survivor must reside in a nursing home, be legally blind or bedridden or need daily help with dressing, eating, bathing or other daily living activities.</li>
<li>To receive the Housebound allowance, an applicant must be primarily confined to their place of residence due to disability and have a 100% disability rating from the VA.</li>
 Those already receiving a VA disability pension aren’t eligible for these programs, but a disability doesn’t have to be related to military service to qualify.
