Oakmont of Carmichael

Oakmont of Carmichael was great. It's a really nice community and it's beautiful inside. It's a place that we would consider. My mother-in-law would probably love it, but she is not yet ready. We weren't able to see a room, but they showed us the layout and where the rooms were. The rooms were like in the back corner area, and they had one room that was available. We just saw the outdoor common area where they can go outside, and the staff also showed us where my mother-in-law can go to see my father-in-law. It's kind of a kitchen area where they can have beverages or something. It was just a basic tour.

My father moved into Oakmont of Carmichael in the memory care unit. His experience has been great. He seems to adapt very well and likes the staff. Everybody has been great, and the facility is very nice. It's like an upscale hotel. The meals are great, the staff is very friendly, responsive, and so far it has been wonderful. They have movies, music comes in, my father is in a wheelchair and can't walk, but the residents can go to parks and other places. They cut his hair, he's getting all the care he needs, he seems to be very happy with everything that is going on there, and we also have a relative in the same facility, which works nicely, since he already knows somebody there. I've dined there several times and the food is excellent. The pricing is competitive, and it was less than a couple of places we checked out, but that was not the main consideration for moving him there. When we met the staff and went to the facility, we liked the layout, the people, everything was very nice, and the price just happened to be the best one.

We visited Oakmont of Carmichael. The layout was beautiful. The place was beautiful. The setup for memory care looked very convenient. The outside where clients could sit was wonderful. We really liked it. The staff members during the tour were all really nice and helpful. They were doing a lot of crafts at the craft table and there were people reading newspapers and drinking coffee. We lost our spot because of my lack of understanding and miscommunication, but otherwise the place looked wonderful.

Jay

Oakmont of Carmichael is a wonderful place, but it costs a fortune. They had gourmet chefs and entertainment who played the piano or guitar and sang. They had trips, which were an extra expense, and based on what I saw, it would be pretty expensive. They took the time and wrote out on a sheet paper in a nice frame, "Welcome Jay." They went the extra mile to make me feel important. They gave me a couple of goodies inside a coffee mug. As long as you have plenty of money, you probably would do well there. The manager was pretty nice. The place was beautiful.
