My mom was in Brookdale. I really liked the place, but when she went to the hospital for two weeks, they continued to charge us for medical and insulin dispensing. I was unhappy with that. Other than that, I would recommend them.

My brother has been staying at Sierra Ridge Memory Care since December 2017. It's very nice. My brother doesn't get involved with activities, but they have music and games. The dining area seems to be nice and clean, too. The food looks good. They have a place where they cut their hair and a place where people go to sit, play music, and play games. The staff members are all very nice, very friendly, and clean.

My dad moved into Brookdale. The director, Joyce, is wonderful. The place is homey, and the people are nice, and not snooty. The staff is loving, and they really care about the people. I had a really good, wonderful feeling about it, and he likes it there, so that's the important part.

Brookdale Auburn was a very good place, but they didn't have independent living. The rooms looked fine. They were clean and well-maintained. The staff did a fine job with the tour.

Brookdale Auburn was good and a preferable place. The staff seemed pretty happy and they really do a lot for the residents. It's well-kept and well-staffed. They seemed to be friendly.

My mother is at Brookdale Auburn and we absolutely love it. I had no idea that we could find a place this wonderful for her. She loves the activities, and she loves the people. They have everything: Bingo, exercising, brain flex, and live music. She has already gone on a bus trip, they have happy hour at 3:30, and they had a huge event Thursday night, which was a themed dinner. She's in a 2-bedroom on the third floor, she has a tree right outside the window, we have bird feeders, and she likes it. Her great granddaughters get to spend the night with her. They come in and clean her room from top to bottom every week. They treat the residents with dignity, they don't treat them like patients or clients. Both of the ladies who run it said, "This is where you live, this is your house, we just work here." I thought this was an amazing concept.

Oakwood Village is a little expensive, but it is a very nice facility and has pretty much everything anybody would need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds seemed to be good too and it's very easy to get to. The rooms are very nice. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. It's more like a homey hotel and not sterile at all.
