The apartment at Brookdale East Arbor was nice, but not quite as roomy as some. The staff was very friendly and it had a homey atmosphere. I didn't like the fact that they have people there with memory issues too, so the doors were always locked. You can't just go in, you always have to have somebody help get you in the door.
Overall it's a small community, looks nice from the outside and somewhat nice in the inside we've had a lot of issues with bugs in my grandmother bedroom that keeps coming back every time. The meals look decent but don't taste very good, the meals seem to have a set routine it never seems to be something different. Management has been a real upside down for a few months now, they don't seem to be as caring as they are well trying to get someone moved in. My grandmother has been having issues since she moved in there's a caregiver that keeps treated her wrong. My grandmother has stated that the caregiver is always getting mad at her telling her that she can wait to go to the bathroom because she's busy everytime my grandmother needs help they ignore her call for about an hour never seems to respond like they should. She has spoken to the nurse about her situation and the nurse never show emphany or fix the problem because it's been months and she is still going thru the same problem we've set things up to have proof nexts time. We are in the process of filing a complaint with cooperate.
Betty in sales was the most uncaring and worst sales advisor I have encountered. This is a very difficult time dealing with both of my parents in poor health at the same time. She only cared about how much money they were able to spend and a "very important" phone call that she left the room to take and when returning laughed and said oh I am buying a new house. She then took us to another community. After about 10 minutes of her being in a closed door office she had us sit down in another office and she said " so what do you think"? We had not seen anything and the smell was so bad I was gagging. Betty needs to take Sales 101 course and also be more focused on Client and their needs. My parents have enough money and I would never place them in any environment where I was treated so poorly. I guess I am not looking for sterling but rather platinum!

I have recently had a client at this property. The care has been inconsistent and the activities minimal. The food is average. The caregivers are kind and caring, but their supervisor often does not know what is going on with the residents.
