Brookdale Springs Mesa

We chose Brookdale Springs Mesa because in Arizona, summers are very hot, so one of my items was to have everything -- like the restaurant and activities -- all indoors. They have an atrium and hallways that connect all the buildings. The second reason was I was looking for activities and it seemed like they have many different types that I thought my mom would enjoy. The third reason was it was clean and had big meeting rooms, so when you come in it's very welcoming and there's a big room for people to gather. The food is not like five-star restaurant, but it's pretty decent, fresh, and there are lots of choices. The staff is very nice. They're very heavy on Bingo and cards. I would like for them to include other types of activities.

Brookdale Springs Mesa is very nice and everything is lovely. The only thing is that I wanted a washer and dryer in my apartment but they don't have that. Other than that they have everything else, there are activities, and they have a very nice restaurant. I also had lunch there and it was very good.

Dad was in Brookdale for less than a month before he passed away and they were excellent. They're very caring and the food was very good. He would have enjoyed it there.

Brookdale Springs Mesa was very nice. The lady who gave us the tour was a very knowledgeable and helpful person. This place was more appealing to us because they have a covered walking area where a person can take a good walk without having to be outside in the sun. The laundry facilities are closer to each apartment and more spread out. I think they're pricey. For example, if you want to have food delivered to your apartment they charge more. They have buses that take the residents on little tours, or they take you to the grocery store or doctors' appointments on certain days. The staff is good. They offered us lunch, but my husband said what he had was awful.

Brookdale Springs Mesa was the facility I liked the best. The facility was nice. I was most impressed with the rooms; they were big. The staff was really good and they had a lot of things going on, including things my mother would be interested in.

We only saw one of the rooms at Brookdale Springs Mesa. The person who showed us around, Jamie, was fantastic and great, but this is a place that's under renovation, so we couldn't go to any other places there and see anything. From what I understand, every single thing there is assisted. We were looking for independent living, and all they have is assisted living available. They do not have independent living available, and I was told that they're updating everything with their revamp to assisted living. We couldn't see any amenities because everything was under renovation, but we got to see a one-bedroom that they had as their model. The staff we met was very nice and very honest in disclosing information pretty much from the beginning. We only got to see the outside and then everything else had black tarps up. It looks like it's going to be a great renovation.
