My friend is going to Harmony at Oakbrooke. We chose this community because we know somebody who had already lived there, their location is just one mile from his first cousin, and he taught at a school in Chesapeake for thirty seven years, so he's very familiar with that area. It's just got a good vibe. They had a nice video tour of the place, and I've been over to that place to see it, and all of the bells rang on it. Everything seems to be really nice and welll run. They've got a physical therapy, rehabilitation, a nice dining area, and theater. The nursing station is good and everything there seems to be nice, and the rooms are well-designed. They are very nice people too. The person that I know who lived there says the food is great.

I visited this facility

The lady at Harmony at Oakbrooke talked to me in one of their conference rooms. Everything was made up with my name on it, so it was very personalized and that was very nice. She had her full attention on me, and we both wore masks. She showed me all the different areas because at that time we could do that. She even introduced me to some of the residents, showed me a room that was available, and she followed up herself. If my friend has the funds, that's where I would put him. They have studios, but they have a variety. They showed me one empty unit that had 2-bedrooms and a common area, and that was really, really nice, but way more expensive. We also looked at a studio. They had a library, a theater, a dining area, crafts, and an exercise room, but a lot of these were closed. Everything was clean. They had a front desk, and everybody there was so friendly and nobody looked harassed. They all looked happy to be there.

Lighthouse Pointe stopped visitations because of COVID-19. But everything seems fine during the few times that we were there. My mother has a good-sized apartment there and it was very nice. The staff is very helpful and very nice. They also have good-sized nice meals. They have activities like bingo, cooking class, bible studies, exercise classes, crossword puzzles, movie nights and a lot of other things for the residents to do.

Lighthouse Pointe Independent Living is a very nice place. It's well-maintained, they have 3 meals during the day, they have housekeeping once a week that comes in to clean the bathroom, change the linens and sweep the floor. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The food is okay, it's what you would expect at a place like that. My dad isn't always happy with the food, but it's nothing inedible although it's kind of bland, but they have to make food that's not too spicy or anything. My dad plays bingo twice a week, they also have entertainment every Saturday in the afternoons, they have church services on Sundays, exercise classes and they have a hair salon on the premises. They offer a lot of activities.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Georgian Manor was modern looking, and it's clean. The person who showed me around was very friendly and very informative about all their amenities. They had on-site hospice, they offered group activities, physical therapy, and a hair salon.

I visited Lighthouse Pointe. Everybody was very warm and inviting. They were very accommodating and friendly. They took me around and let me see everything. They answered all my questions. They were very caring and very kind. I loved the décor, and I liked the sizes of the room. They were right for me. They have a variety of options that would fit my budget. They have craft time, and they go on trips. There are people that were excited to go out into their community. They have movie time, they have outdoor activities, and they have exercise time. They have a whole calendar for them. They have housekeeping, full meal services, and dietary assistance. They have a long list of amenities. The staff member who showed me around the place was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and kind. She reached out multiple times. She is concerned at how things are progressing with the sale of my house. She invited me to come back to visit and to spend some time there.

The staff at Lighthouse Pointe was very friendly and cordial, and the atmosphere was pleasant. They had exercise and game rooms. The food and the menu were good. It would be a pleasant place to live in. The dining area was very clean and the waitresses were very pleasant. You couldn't ask for anything better.

They answered all my questions and were very outgoing; I could not ask for anything more. I was very impressed with Lighthouse Pointe. They do a lot of activities, like cards, games, outings, movie nights, and a computer lab with internet. It looked like they have all the amenities that anybody would need. They serve three meals a day and have a shuttle service available for scheduled appointments; they just have to sign up when they need to go. They provide housekeeping and have people who you can hire to do extra things, like polish silver. It’s not provided as their service, but they have additional help available if people want to do that. They change your bedding if you use their linens and you’re also welcome to bring your own. They have laundry service, and washer and dryer.
