I visited this facility
Our tour at Dogwood Terrace was fine. The people were nice, and they had what we needed. The staff members who accommodated us were very friendly, and they answered anything that needed to be answered. The room had a small living room and a bedroom. They also had a suite available, which was one room with a bathroom, and there was a one-bedroom, too. They feed them three meals a day, they help them to doctors appointments, and they have activities daily.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
We're moving my father out of Dogwood Terrace. They can't give him the care he needs over there. He has only been there eight days, and we're moving him on Friday. It's a nice place; however, my dad cannot see a microwave nor can he see a menu so that he can pick something up to eat. Sometimes they don't even bring him a meal. So, my father needs to be where there's somebody 24/7 and make sure his meals are right and his pills are right. My father got an apartment. It has a living room, a bedroom and a small kitchenette. They have activities but he is hard of hearing and is legally blind, so he can't play bingo or play cards. He can't see them. They don't have anything there for people like him, but I always see something going on up there.

Everything is included in Dogwood Terrace. Everything is included in their monthly fee. They offer housekeeping service once a week and they furnish the linens and the towels for that. The manager who took us around was very knowledgeable about everything. She answered every question I asked. You could see from the people doing things that they were very happy where they were. This place has been open for 12 years and it looked like it had just opened really. It looked really good. They have a library, an exercise room, a game room, and craft areas. The other thing is that, if you need assistance doing something, they can furnish a list of people who provide the service in the area. If you need health care or someone to come in and would do your medication, they will provide you with the list of people they've used. They serve as a resource for all of the senior needs in the retirement community.

I visited this facility
Dogwood Terrace was very nice. My parents liked it a lot. The staff was very forthcoming with information, answered all of their questions very easily, and was very knowledgeable about his product. The food was not that great though, and it was the least exciting part of the whole thing. The atrium area where you come in was big and open, and the dining room was airy and good sized. The apartments were reasonably good sized and had lots of light. It was clean, and it was the nicest place that we looked at.

Dogwood Terrace was a very beautiful place. The amenities were wonderful. The people were very friendly. The food was nice. They invited me out for lunch while I was there. We talked about their activities. They had a very nice calendar. The apartments were very nice and spacious. The arrangement was nice. The facilities were good. They were easy to get around.

I visited this facility
I liked Dogwood Terrace. The staff seemed to be extremely friendly, cordial, and caring. The residents that we encountered were extremely welcoming. We had lunch there and it was good. My parents seemed to enjoy the food. Everything was freshly painted and looked good. It didn't look worn or in disrepair. It's well kept. It's right off an interstate. They have lots of activities for the residents to do like arts and crafts, game nights, and they have speakers who come in.

They had nice facilities at Dogwood Terrace, but they couldn't puree food for my mother. I saw residents just sitting around. The dining room was nice and the rooms were spacious enough. I saw an exercising station where they had recumbent bikes. They hav a library. The staff seemed as accommodating as they could be. The facility was clean and pretty well-maintained.

Dogwood Terrace looks like a giant apartment complex. It's fairly neat, clean, bright in appearance, and maintained fairly nicely. There are individual apartments, so it's not like an assisted living community. What you do is you buy the care that you need. You pay for your meals and your help cleaning your apartment and if you need additional care, you buy it not in big chunks, but you buy what you need, like an a la carte menu. Three meals a day are provided, which are paid for with your rent. My aunt-in-law doesn't always make it down for breakfast, but the meals seemed to be adequate. They give you daily menus. There are several choices, and it's done restaurant style. They are fairly responsive. There's no medical staff on the premises, so you're given a life alert button. She's not taking advantage of the activities, but they do offer a variety. Overall, it's a better value than what we were looking at, but what we're looking at in the next step is the assisted living and this is not that. We're getting some assistance and I feel certain before too long we might go down the assisted living channel.
