Elmcroft of Hamilton Place seemed to offer the most for your money. The rooms were nice. My hang-up was the location. It's on Gunbarrel Road which is right in the middle of a very busy Hamilton place with shopping and restaurants. It's a problem getting there to visit and going home. It's a lovely facility.
Read more Elmcroft of Hamilton Place reviewsMy mother-in-law has been in Elmcroft of Hamilton Place for a few months now. So far, we've had a really good experience. Everybody has been very nice and very helpful. She has had some falls and she's a pretty difficult patient, but they have done really well with her. We're very happy with where she is. She is in the...
Read more Elmcroft of Hamilton Place reviewsElmcroft was very pleasing, and the staff was nice, but it was bigger than we thought my brother-in law could handle. The rooms were comparable to the others. The activities were presented, and they were very good. They had a lot of social and physical activities. They had a library and a workout station.
Read more Elmcroft of Hamilton Place reviewsMy aunt has been living in Elmcroft of Hamilton Place for about a year. The staff members are very helpful. They offer activities, like church, singing, and people who come in and play games with them. They provide three meals and two snacks.
Read more Elmcroft of Hamilton Place reviewsI didn't like Elmcroft of Shallowford at all. It was understaffed and it wasn't clean. I didn't find that they took good care of my father. His room was very dark and the bathroom wasn't kept clean. They didn't do laundry regularly. The food was fine and they have movies, games, daily events, and occasional shopping. T...
Read more Elmcroft of Shallowford reviewsElmcroft of Shallowford had this program where for 100 days, they'd spend pretty much 24 hours a day with my mother-in-law if she needed it. She suffers from Sundowner's, so she only sleeps about two hours a day. They'd have someone with her pretty much at all times because she falls a lot. So, the 100-day care was a h...

Cost of Assisted Living Comparison Chart
When considering medical service costs for seniors, the biggest factor is the level of care needed to ensure comfort. If seniors need part-time care, then adult day care ($1,733) is the least expensive route. Home health care is useful for seniors who need help with daily necessities, including bathing, dressing, meal prep and light housekeeping, but the costs on average are $700 to $800 over the expense of assisted living ($3,018), and unlike assisted living, home health care doesn’t include the costs of financially maintaining a home, such as rent, utilities, transportation, groceries and landscaping.

PACE
Alexian Brothers PACE is a Christian-based health and service program that serves the elderly of Hamilton County, providing alternatives to nursing home care facilities. It’s a managed care system that offers high-quality health care to seniors at the PACE center, in medical facilities or in the individuals home. Geriatrician experts at PACE help coordinate the numerous medical needs and appointments that can easily overwhelm people, including medication management, specialist care, hospitalizations, primary care and therapy.
While the PACE program doesn’t contribute toward the cost of assisted living, it can reduce the overall expense of services seniors would otherwise have to pay for. Seniors can receive all-inclusive care from a well-rounded team of physicians, nurses, case managers and dietitians, who tailor plans suited to each individuals special needs. Services vary and include non-emergency transportation, prescription medications, medical equipment and supplies, preventative health services, outpatient surgery and dentistry.
There is no fee required if you are eligible for TennCare long-term care services. If you are Medicare eligible only, a fee may be involved and determined by the enrollment coordinator. To be eligible for the PACE program, individuals must be age 55 and up, live in Hamilton County, Tennessee, be assessed by the PACE interdisciplinary team and be certified by TennCare as being eligible for nursing home level of care.
To learn more about the Alexian Brothers PACE program, please fill out this form or call (423) 495-9114 or (800) 441-8883.
