I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Management will make you think they care but Executive Director does not. Meals are frequently overcooked. Some staff cares the majority do not. Meds go missing or not given. Activities are only for specific residents. Cleanliness is not a priority. Laundry stacks up. Residents escape. Memory care residents are left unattended and are always left to sit in front of a tv all day. Assisted living residents are often treated badly when asking for help. Don’t push your call button it will be over looked as well. Over priced and very lacking on quality caring staff. No one is properly trained. No one is allowed to be empathetic. Staff is suppose to be robotic. Who wants this for their loved one. The Blake will say anything to get your money!

Staff is not attentive. Memory residents are sitting all day doing very little and often nothing. Many left wet and dirty. Meals are often not edible. Most go unbathed. The wellness folks don’t help with issues. We are currently looking to get our mom out quickly.

They kept a relative one day past her Medicare approved 20 days for surgery rehab and charged her $200. Her condition upon her release was the same as if she would have been released a day sooner which would have saved her the extra cost. Requests to absolve her of this debt fell upon deaf ears. She will definitely go somewhere else after her next upcoming surgery. Maybe facility will be more patient understanding and less money hungry.

I visited this facility

Sunrise of Westtown was very nice. It gave you a home feeling. It was clean. I just liked it. I think it would be perfect for somebody that likes a similar homier environment. The staff is good. They were very nice and friendly. I actually did not see much of the dining area because at the time it was like the beginning of COVID. Everything was shut down and they weren't touring in this facility. They had a sitting area. They definitely had the board games. I know they had transportation to take them from places where they needed to go there.

I am a past client of this provider

Turi was outstanding. She was looking after my wife. My wife has progressive supranuclear palsy, which means she is pretty much a paraplegic and she cannot communicate. Turi did an absolutely wonderful job bathing her, talking to her, and engaging with her. She was just very good. She used to do physical therapy type exercises to keep my wife's limbs mobile. That was not actually in her job description, so she went above and beyond what she was required to do. She was very conscientious about trying to do the best she could for my wife. My wife was very comfortable with her. Turi would have been very hard to replace. She was the fourth or fifth one Home Instead brought in. The previous ones were not able to handle my wife and Turi was the only one that was actually able to handle that.

My friend is at Sunrise of Westtown. Their nursing staff and the people who are checking in on her are very good. I was there for one lunch, and we met women teaching a knitting class and a crocheting class. They have the option where you can pay to stay another month, and she's been doing it that way. They're providing such good care for the residents there. They have transportation services for people who would be able to or need to go places nearby. There's an activity room, but right now no one is permitted to be there. They had a nice dining hall and good food. There's a place to walk outside and a library. It's affordable and if she needs a little bit of extra care, that is available to her.

My father-in-law has moved into Sunrise at Fleetwood. So far, so good. There are no major issues with the way they operate the place. Overall, there are no complaints about the cleanliness and the upkeep. The staff is friendly, but at times they could use a little more staff. My father-in-law's room is a well-lit nice space. It accommodates him well. The dining room is a well-appointed nice area. It has a homey feel to it.

I visited this facility

I liked Royal Oaks. It was small and only had 50 beds total or a little bit more, and it was clean. The person during the visit was very helpful. She told me of the different activities they had, and they had outings. I checked the memory care and the assisted living, and the rooms were decent sized with bathrooms in each one.

I visited this facility

Harmony at Wescott Plantation was very nice. It wasn't the nicest, but not because of the cleanliness, and it wasn't as new as some of the locations we visited, but it was still very clean. The staff was very friendly, they greeted the residents like friends, and you could tell they had a rapport with the residents because they asked about their family members. I saw a calendar of activities for the residents and there's quite a bit of effort and time that goes into organizing things to make sure the residents have things to do. I did not try the food, but I wasn't impressed with the menu; it seemed limited.
