This is an amazing facility in Sisters. The units are large and each unit has a door to the inside with huge common hallways, (like a very nice hotel, AND they have direct access to the outside. Everything is single level, they offer meals, cleaning, activities. I believe they are all independent living, they offer big studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bed/2 bathroom units! The town of Sisters, Oregon is a perfect backdrop for The Lodge Retirement Community. I believe the are the best facility in Central Oregon. The director Jeni was welcoming and super nice. The town of Sisters really has a small town feel, I love Bend, but it has gotten so big as a town. The town of Sisters fits the pace that retirement needs. Love the town and love The Lodge.

We saw two-bedroom apartments at Whispering Winds that were occupied. They were nice and they were both a different square footage. The staff was good and answered the questions we had. We had lunch there.

Prestige Senior Living High Desert was very nice and comfortable. My husband stayed there for a day. It's beautiful, very nice, and clean. They had lots of things going on like bingo. The staff was very nice, but then there was an isolated incident with miscommunication.

Prestige Senior Living High Desert was a very nice place. Theirs was just assisted living and not specifically memory care, and my husband needed memory care. It's a beautiful community with very nice people and really good care. I was very impressed. I would have liked to put my husband there, but they felt that they couldn't give the care he needs. The rooms were beautiful, like apartments. The place was clean, with beautiful facilities, and great food. If somebody doesn't need an awful lot of care, that's a nice place. I only met their sales manager, who was extremely nice. I didn't eat there but I saw the menus and people eating. It was a regular restaurant. They had tea in the afternoon.

My experience with Brookdale Redmond has been good so far. It's a good community, it's clean, and everyone was very nice. The only improvement needed is with the food. The residents don't think it's enough, although I think its fine. They don't do many activities, but they're advertising more than they actually do.

We went to the Prairie House. I was depressed when I first stepped inside after seeing the occupants just walking around. The gentleman who gave us the tour was nice and he followed up numerous times. After seeing a place like that, it pushed us over the edge to look into in-home care. I saw everything. The dining room reminded me of a school cafeteria and I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't want my mom to go there. It's much more like an institution than a home. I saw an art activity where the residents were painting. The facility didn't seem very warm and comforting.

Stone Lodge was very nice and clean. The staff was very good. The library was very nice. They had an area where they could play cards anytime and transportation if needed to go to doctor or appointment of any kind. They had an exercise room and quite a few activities.
