Memory Care is different from other types of senior communities. Although it would be easy to think any senior community that has residents with dementia is a Memory Care community, nothing could be farther from the truth.

What does Memory Care provide?

Memory Care communities do more than address the mental and physical changes brought about by dementia. At Mill View, we know memory impairments can change how a person thinks, acts and feels. These changes often present special challenges for families. An ordinary conversation, for example, can be quite frustrating when your loved one has difficulty remembering from one moment to the next what has been said. These challenges are equally frustrating for the person with dementia.

Our Memory Care community gives the person with dementia permission to be exactly who they are and allows them to receive the help they need without judgment or shame.

With our ideal location in Bend, The Summit Assisted Living is an assisted living and independent living community offering convenient access for families located anywhere in the area. We are close to the shops and activities of downtown as well as the St. Charles Medical Center.

Residents can take in the beautiful surroundings of central Oregon every day. For special events, entertainment or visiting family and friends, the private dining room is available. For accommodations we have studio apartments and one- bedroom and two-bedroom suites. All suites come equipped with wall-to-wall carpeting, full bathrooms with a walk-in shower and an emergency call system.

Whenever our residents are in need of assistance, our staff is ready and able to give them whatever help they require. A few of these services include medication management, dressing and clothing assistance, laundry and housekeeping services, and assistance with showers. Beauty salon and barber services are available for an additional fee and are located on-site for convenience.

Our compassionate and well-trained staff give personalized care services to our residents, offering only as much assistance as needed or requested. It is our goal to keep residents living as independently as possible while they are living here. Our community also offers visits from speech, occupational and physical therapists.
