The people were very friendly and extremely helpful. They took phone calls whenever I called to ask questions. The way they do their care levels is just exactly what we need. They're one of the few places that are not as expensive and is very cost-effective. They have a 6th floor memory care unit which we would likely need. My mother has the option to stay where she is if we can afford it, or she could go with my dad into a shared apartment. The shared unit is an efficiency apartment with only one bedroom. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the meals are restaurant-style. We like that they do their laundry once a week in one load, and not mix them with everybody else's. They also come in and clean the apartments once or twice a week. There's a snack room and transportation. The place smells good. There are lots of places to go and things to do, like games and movies. It's an older building but that doesn't matter.
My parents will be moving in. It fit our needs the best. The rooms were nice, clean, and good. They had many activities, meals, a chapel, and games. Everything was very good, but it's an older building. They have excellent staff who've been there for a long time, and the ones who haven't were very kind and courteous. The food could be a little healthier. It's not bad, but I felt like there could be more vegetables and fresh ingredients.
The Harbor Court is like a old hotel however the residents are spread out on different wings making it difficult to be aware of the needs of the residents. The community is understaffed and have a few challenges with providing the appropriate care for the residents. This community would be a better fit for active residents due to the layout. The staff had a few customer service issues and residents seemed to be board and craving activities. The building is clean but need some upgrades.
This community is very unique in structure style. This community used to be an old hotel which is nice because it has plenty of space but the exterior and interior is very dated. The staff was friendly but very distracted and mentioned being short staffed. During the evening hours there is only one nurse on staff for all the residents which is an issue simply because of the layout of the community. The community lacks the "open feel" many communities have, this community is divided by each floor and requires the use of an elevator to get to all floors. For families that are concerned about constant watchful oversight, I would not recommend this community.
