My daughter and son-in-law moved into Independence Village, and it's close to other family members. They have an in-house maintenance guy that's in charge of mechanical and electrical problems in the apartment, he also sets up the cable for the cable TVs. They provide two meals a day, so you're on your own for lunch. They have exercise area, a library, a beauty shop, a self-serve laundry, and they do activities also.

My folks moved into Independence Village. It was very nice, a lot of people were smiling, and they were very friendly. The facility is very accommodating and everything seemed like a good fit. They have everything they could possibly need and it was top notch. The residents I talked to were very happy and they said they would have moved sooner if they'd known it would be good for them.

I chose Independence Village because everyone was so friendly, the residents as well as the staff. The apartment was very nice and had new paint. The food was very good. They had all the activities that I am interested in, so I'm very satisfied.

I went to Independence Village of Avon Lake. I thought it was beautiful and very welcoming. The facility was bright, inviting, and very nice. The people were very nice. The gentleman that showed me and my brother around was very, very informative and answered all of our questions. The apartments were large, nice, and clean, and had a lot of storage. They had a café open all of the time for residents to help themselves. The dining room was full, and the food smelled good. The people that we talked to were very happy to be living there. We met a lot of different residents. Everything was spotless. We went through the locked down unit for the Alzheimer’s patients, which had good security that I could see.

My visit at Independence Village of Avon Lake was very positive. They had large studio and one-bedroom units that looked more like apartments rather than an assisted living unit, so that was very nice. I also saw that they had several meeting rooms, a library, and several areas outside.
