Mari de Villa was very nice. They were very pleasant, and very helpful in guiding us around various units that were available. They have everything from a 1-bedroom to a 3-bedroom. There's nothing wrong with the units, except the cost structure. They were very expensive, and it wasn't a good fit for us. The financial aspect was very important for me. We saw the dining room and the physical fitness areas.

Sunrise of Chesterfield was for a senior who needs more care than ours does. It was a little bit busy on the inside with lots of people and lots of sound. It's a busy home-like environment. I was there while they were doing construction. I did not meet any staff except for the one person that gave us the tour, but she was really nice, very informative, and seemed to know a lot about the process of moving a family member.

This facility upon entering looks very home friendly but once in their program all the family friendly atmosphere stops. Staff could care less. Hygiene is at the bottom of the list. No gloves while caring for residents. Medication for my mom ran out so they just didn't give her any of her morning medications. My mom has Parkinson, on hospice care and taking 6 medications several times daily. One is an opiate for pain and because the hospice nurse forgot to order a refill the aide just didn't give her any medication that morning. I arrived and found my mom in a chair waiting for her medication and in pain. I asked the aide if my mom received her morning medication was told yes then asked again at desk was told yes then asked again and was told oh no because we didn't have her pain medication so she hasn't gotten her morning medications. Still waiting for the hospice nurse to call us back. This took place over 2 hours while I was there visiting. The staff told me that your mother makes stuff up to trick us. If I could move my mom would have yesterday but she is at end of life and at 85 shouldn't she get better care???? Bad place stay away if you love your loved one!!!

When I visited Brooking Park I was shocked at how big the community was. I will say the building didn't look too old either. And the furniture design was colorful. With lots of elegance in style. And the spring colors for choice of furniture brightens the day. They offer units with hardwood floors which I don't care too much for, or either carpet. In which I prefer. And the rooms do have a large beautiful window that would be perfect for viewing sunrises. Now I do know they offer the usual activities to participate in. Plus they have a newly built beautiful library. Which have thousands of collections. As far as meals three traditional meals that's eaten with everyone else. Now as far as care, they have available all medical needs on site. So it'll save time on those lengthy doctor visits.

When I visited Sunrise of Chesterfield I was delighted with the beautiful outside gardening view. It came equipped with a beautiful patio area where you can enjoy the sound of nature. They offer standard private units for rent. But I must say they come with carpet, well lit, and you get your own thermostat to control temperature to preference. The bathrooms are very roomy. They have showers that can be accessed with wheelchairs. They offer meals where you eat with all occupants. But I must say, they have a bitrso where every meal is cooked to order. And they offer many activities to keep active. You can enjoy some tennis on the private court, or indulge in arts and crafts. And when you need to relax after the busy day. They make it easy with their beautiful fireplaces located through out.
