My father is in Providence Healthcare and Rehabilitation. They feed him mashed food for lunch, but they still keep him on the feeding tube for dinner. He didn't eat yesterday, and he said to me that he's starving to death. His food is a couple feet away from him and when we go there late, no one comes to feed him or help him. He fell out of his bed and he's a fall risk. He fell face flat, and he had a bloody nose and bruises all over his arm. His room is okay, but he has a roommate in front of him who's annoying. Another thing that bothers me is there's a psychiatric place next door, and there are patients that walk in to the Providence facility. They don't have security. His bed one time was moved to the side where the nurses were negligent, and they didn't want to help or do anything. They even asked my brother to put him in bed. The ladies were so lazy, and the CNAs were terrible. He seems to be OK with lunch, but he doesn't like the tube feeding. I wish they would feed him twice a day. It's a pretty clean facility. They have the rehabilitation services at the back. Sometimes, his bed is not low like it should be or there's no mat on the floor and at times they didn't have a sheet on his bed.

My mother is a resident of The Pointe. Overall the facility is clean, they have plenty of activities for their residents and the food is better than most other facilities my mother has been in. She loves it there, has made new friends and enjoys playing bingo and pokeno. The staff seems to geniunely care for the residents. The issue we continually have is with the nursing and CNA staff. There is a high turnover there in the nursing staff and they do not provide adequate medication management. This was one of the reasons we initially chose to put mom there. She has ended up in the hospital twice due to her not receiving her medication. I have to continually call the nurses to make sure they fill the prescriptions in a timely manner and are giving them to my mother as prescribed. They never return your calls and at times can be a bit rude when you call to make sure the medication is being filled and dispersed. If this facility could provide the necessary medication management it would be the perfect place. So if your loved one has a medical condition that needs to be monitored and controlled with medication I would not recommend at this time.
