At Bickford of Crown Point, a Registered Nurse creates and oversees all care plans, monitors resident health and helps coordinate third-party medical services when required. Our nurse works in tandem with our certified caregivers who are available and on-site 24 hours a day to provide assistance with daily activities such as grooming, bathing and administering medications.

For added comfort and convenience, our staff also take care of all housekeeping, linen changing, snow removal, maintenance, landscaping, transportation and meal preparation. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in The Bread Basket, our community dining room, with snacks available in our Bistro. Dishes are prepared fresh and crafted with input from a licensed dietician.

Our residents range between their 60's-90's. Many of them take advantage of the various activities we have to offer including bingo, puzzles, adult coloring, chair exercises, balance class, daily news, and cardio drumming.

Our doors lock at 4pm with visitors and residents able to be let in by our staff. Also each resident is provided a safe-alert pendant to wear around their neck as a call light in case they ever need anything.

We accept dogs and cats as long as they can be independently care for by the resident. Cats must stay in the room of the resident. There are multiple areas outdoors the dogs can enjoy as well as the nearby Lake County Fairgrounds.

Indiana

Don't place your loved ones here. My mother was neglected when she resided in the memory care unit, left on the cold floor for hours which led to a significant hospital stay with a decline in her function.  She then had 4 other injuries which were unexplained and discovered by family or her Hospice nurse. Family was never notified by facility of her injuries.  Most of her clothing disappeared as fast as we provided it.  Director of nursing and administrator don't have the decency to return calls until you leave 3-4 messages.
