Brookdale Pensacola (formerly Sterling House of Pensacola) is a pleasant and comfortable assisted living community for seniors who need a little bit of help but still desire active lives. Supportive staff provide personal assistance with basic daily tasks tailored to each individual resident. Our community is just minutes away from shopping malls, a major hospital and gorgeous Macky Bay.

I visited this facility
I like Brookdale Pensacola, I'm trying to go there. They have a nurse on duty every day, a doctor who also visits every day and an ARNP. The staff who assisted me during the tour are very nice. They have a small studio, a larger studio, and they also have an apartment. If they didn't have what you want available, they'll put you in a larger one, and eventually, when a smaller one becomes available they'll call you. If I want to go in there, I have to get in line and I still have a problem with the VA. The price in this one is a little bit more expensive than the other community I visited. They have a lot of activities, they take the patients to the casino, and they would have hawaiian or luau. I looked at their schedule and it looked like there's a lot to do.

I visited this facility
The parking lot in Brookdale Pensacola had an incline to it when getting in and out, and the parking space is not levelled. So for someone with mobility issues, that would be a concern. Once you get inside, it's very clean and seems to be well-organized. They were doing renovations to the laundry room when we were there. I would say they were doing a good job with the upkeep. The manager that I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms were adequate, although they're were a little bit on the smaller side. They had a nice courtyard with seating areas, a screened-in back porch, and a small library. They also had activities going on which seemed well organized, they always had a lot going on. We had a favorable impression overall.

I visited this facility
The apartments at Brookdale Pensacola were just way too small. Even the 1-bedroom was teeny tiny. I also didn't like the fact that there was no carpet in any of the rooms. It just felt very cold. There was virtually no closet space. The closet was teeny tiny. The staff and the facility itself were quite nice, it's just the rooms were way too small. They had a nice big activities room and the tenants were very friendly.
