I visited this facility

Belmont Village San Jose is senior assisted living. The rooms were OK. However, I was not pleased when I walked into the lobby. The person that was greeting us was at this small desk and behind her were these two filing cabinets, the wide kind; they sounded so cheap and they were jiggling. It made me wonder what was the rest of this place was like quality wise. Also, it was very expensive. They did have a nice menu. They were lots of activities going on.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My dad is at Belmont in San Jose. The food is awesome. The care and the activities are really organized. It is an amazing place and expensive, but I feel like in terms of what's going on over there, it is well worth it. They are just amazing. The difference between the menu at Belmont Village and the menu at the other community is it's far more superior. The place is very clean and generally organized. The space itself and dining room are very nice. They have arts and exercises. They encourage my dad to join, and he participates. He wasn't participating at all in the independent living, but here he does a lot more activities. The great thing about the Belmont is that their staff are hosting a lot of the games, so it is not just the people getting together. Having the staff organize and be there to facilitate makes a huge difference. From what I could see, it is a very professional organization.

I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility

I'm quite satisfied here in Belmont Village. Our only problem right now is that we have to stay in our rooms because some people have the flu. The staff members are very helpful and do a good job. They have activities to keep us active. I can go out to inspect the neighborhood, and my wife has Alzheimer's and participates in some of the games. If you want to participate, you can, or don't. We have a two-bedroom apartment that's quite roomy and very comfortable. The price is a little high.

Belmont Village San Jose was very nice but expensive. The staff members were very lovely and very easy to talk to. The activities were excellent. They had exercise, crafts, and trips. Cleanliness and maintenance were excellent, but it was on a busy street. Getting in and out was difficult, although they had valet parking.

I Visited This Community

Belmont Village in San Jose is in an upscale urban shopping area.  The building itself is 7 stories, with dining and living room on the first floor that have an elegant, welcoming feel.  Everywhere I went was spotlessly clean. The majority of residents appear to require some assisted living services and there were many staff members interacting with the residents.  The staff were incredibly polite and kind to the residents, engaging with every resident they saw and always offering a positive comment.  Each floor has intimate sitting areas residents use to chat or read as well as lovely private apartments.  On the seventh floor are two patios with great vistas of San Jose, as well as a bistro where a few residents were gathered for a soft drink and a visit.  On each floor I visited, I was impressed with the level of care and concern expressed by every staff member toward every resident.  I would give Belmont Village in San Jose 5 Stars for Caring Staff!

I Visited This Community

We have moved many families into this wonderful community. The staff is one of the most caring and professional in the business. Not only do they listen to the concerns and questions from families and their loved ones, but they also serve as advocates. Recently, we moved a woman into this community that was very reluctant to make this transition. One of the members of the marketing team was able to honestly speak with her about these concerns - not address them around her, or simply try to pacify the family that it would be okay. She agreed with the new resident that change is hard and it was okay to feel scared and nervous about making such a change. But that the team was there to support her with whatever she needed. You could see some of the feat melt away with this new resident. Everyone working in this community knows every single resident. The atmosphere in the common areas and dining room is full of lively conversations and engaged residents.
