I visited this facility

I visited Sunrise of La Jolla. I liked it. The only thing about this one is the room was much smaller, but the staff there is very nice. I knew it was kind of a smaller facility, but they have independent living, assisted living, and memory care, and I really like the staff there. I saw a one-bedroom and a studio, and they were just smaller-sized overall. They had an exercise area, a little sunroom, but they didn't have as many outdoor areas as the other places just because of the location they're in, but the facility is very nice overall. The menu looked good, but I didn't try the food there. They're smaller so they had staggered times for people to eat so there could still be distance enough. They just have a library, their sunroom is very nice where people play cards and things like that. I noticed at Sunrise that the staff knew all the residents. They just talked to them and interacted with them and were just very kind.

I Visited This Facility

Sunrise of La Jolla was excellent. I didn't like the basement area that much, but the rest of it was very nice. The area that you drove into to park was kind of scary for somebody that's older, but when you got upstairs to the elevator, it was very nice. I liked the rooms and I liked the views. The dining room was very clean, very comfortable, and it's private. The staff was very informative, very comfortable to talk to, and they introduced us to the other clients as we were walking through. I really liked the way the rooms were set up. It had a kitchenette, and the rooms were separate, so we would be comfortable. It was very close to places that I would like to walk around, like the beach, so I could look at the scenery.

I Visited This Facility

We visited Sunrise and really liked it and the atmosphere. It's nice with a bit old style, but older people like that. We had a very good lunch, and the chef even came out and talked to us. They can accommodate restrictions in diet. That's the place we're going to go with.

I Visited This Community

Sunrise of La Jolla was a much nicer facility and more expensive than other places. It was in a nice part of San Diego, and the second story had an ocean view. It's very nice on paper. Inside, it's very nicely decorated, with the interior designs all themed and matching. It's definitely an upscale community and staff. The highlight of our tour was when the female chef came out. She clearly does this with every guest and every resident and took a personal interest, got to know us, and asked us a little bit about my grandfather, my aunt's father. She was just very attentive and caring and was by far the standout of that particular facility.

I liked the staff at Sunrise of La Jolla (Sunrise of Pacific Beach). The place itself was very welcoming and had a grand staircase, which I really liked. The people that greeted us and sat in with us were very nice. I liked that place a lot. That was the one I thought I would end up going to for my husband.

I Visited This Community

Very beautiful facility located only a few miles from shopping and restaurants. This facility is clean throughout and has an open and functional floor plan. There is not many places within walking distance, but the facility offers transportation at an additional cost. There is much to do on site including a media room, TV room, workout room, and activity room. The facility is moderately sized which adds to the warm feel of this assisted living facility. The residents and the staff were quite friendly, and I like the area surrounding the facility because it is scenic and peaceful. A great memory care program also is housed at this facility, and the care is above average.
