I adore this property, it is conveniently located and has spacious walking grounds. It has a more intimate feel which seemed right for my loved one as a large, bustling community can be too overwhelming for someone with dementia.

I went here. The director was very nice, but it was not the right fit for my mom. I think the residents there were a little bit past where my mom is, and I feel it was too small. It was too old and too small. I wanted her to have more space; it felt kind of cramped. I felt the facilities needed to be better kept. It was also very loud outside; it was next to the freeway. I also think the food is probably terrible. They have a walking area outside, but there were no flowers and no umbrellas. It's there, but it's not maintained; it could be a little bit better.

My mom moved in, and I'm finding the care at par with everybody else. She's in level 2 care. It's not too much, and that's enough for her. I liked that it's a little smaller, and by having 80 residents there, it's nicer for her. The staff is good. They keep her very clean, they take care of her room every week, and it's very nice. She's actually going out and doing things.

It was wonderful. We met people who lived there and it was very good. There were good-sized rooms and bathrooms and adequate living/bedroom areas. They had an activity room and a calendar of events. They served three meals and it seemed pretty flexible and accommodating. We had an excellent meal. The staff was wonderful, warm, informational and answered any questions we had.

It was wonderful. I liked it. It's nice for seniors. It was clean and it seemed like a comfortable place. The residents looked very comfortable. They were sitting around the tables in the dining area and playing games. The staff was very nice to my neighbor. The tour she gave us was very nice. She was very polite, very thoughtful, very helpful, and answered all of her questions.

It is a memory care unit only. My husband is going to have total care there. He's going to have a private room and he is going to share a bath with one person. It's a nice, small building, it's very clean, and it has some nice outdoor spaces and a patio. The staff is very friendly, but professional. It's a small place, so he won't have too many people there to overwhelm him. They have music and painting.

My mother was here for about 4-1/2 weeks just for atrophy care. She got really sick and she couldn't really get up or walk. The place was clean. They're extremely helpful. All you have to do is ask and you get what you want. The staff was very good. They make sure that you have what you need and if you don't, they get it as soon as possible, so they're timely. They were able to get my mom to some doctors' appointments, which really helped. On Mondays and Wednesdays, they take residents to their doctors' appointments and if they're in a wheelchair, that really helps. The rooms were beautiful, they all had TVs and refrigerators. You can either share a room or have a room alone, which is nice. There is a bathroom connected to the room, there's a shower, and they help with showers, which is important for my mom because she has a hard time with that. You can bring in anything you want (like pictures) and I brought plants in. You can make it like a bedroom. A couple other women had their rooms done and they were really cute. They have puzzles. If they don't want to eat in their room, they can go out and eat in the dining room. They have activities.

The John Villa Home was an outstanding facility. My mom resided there for 2 years and during that time she had the most loving and professional care. They treated her like family which meant so much to me. My mom was always content, peaceful & clean. My mom was a very picky eater but the food was outstanding and she always ate most everything. The meals were not only delicious but presented in a very appealing manner. I loved the fact the facility was a home and not impersonal like a nursing home or large assisted living.
