Mission Creek was a little bigger than the other place. They were prepared when I got there. The person who normally gives the tours was there, and they had information for me. We walked around and she showed me the place. It was dinner time so no activities were going on, but they did have an activity space. It was newer, a little bigger, well lit, and they had more studios. They take residents shopping, to the pharmacy, and other places.

My mother-in-law has been living in Mission Creek. She was originally in assisted living, but we moved her to the memory care unit, and shes doing marvelous there. Theyre all very nice, theyre good to her, and she jokes with them all the time. The rooms are very large, and her room looks out onto the courtyard. They have bird-feeders, flower boxes, she has a twin-bed, a dresser, recliner, a TV, a little table and chairs, and a couple of sitting chairs. She gets her moneys worth.

Mission Creek was a very clean facility. The activities director who toured me was nice. On the memory care side, they were doing exercises when I was there.

Mission Creek is in excellent shape. The staff has been outstanding. My mother is currently crossing over between memory care and assisted living. At night she's in memory care, but during the day she's able to go out and have dinner and interact with people who are in assisted living. Everyone there from the registration staff to the aides have really done a wonderful job with her. She loves it there. She's in a single bedroom, open concept, so there's an area for a bed, a television, a small refrigerator, shelving, a storage area, and a very large bathroom that is wheelchair accessible, which is wonderful. If you look at their calendar, there's probably five or six things every day for people to do like Bingo, cards, memory games, and exercise.

I went to Mission Creek twice because the staff that gave me the tour did a wonderful job. The greeter that they have at the door is excellent. It's a huge place and they have memory care, assisted living, and also apartments. I didn't like how confined it was for the memory care. It's like they are off on a wing that didn't have any open air or even a little courtyard. I saw no activity going on at all at the memory care unit, just people sitting around. All the activity was in the assisted living. It's like the memory care unit doesn't exist at all. I walked through the dining area and the setup is actually very nice. When I got introduced to the one in charge for the memory care, she just disappeared in her office right after.
The median cost of assisted living in Waukesha for a single-occupancy apartment is $4,600/month (Genworth -2021). This monthly cost typically includes rent, utilities, dining, housekeeping and transportation.
