Point Defiance Village is proud to be a Holiday Retirement community. Since 1971, Holiday Retirement has been creating superb residential communities where seniors feel a sense of home and belonging. This is what we like to call “The Holiday Touch.”
Residents at Point Defiance Village enjoy three delicious meals per day served in our elegant, restaurant-style community dining room. Dishes are made from fresh, wholesome ingredients and prepared by our professional chef with our residents' dietary needs in mind.
Between meals, you can choose from a host of entertainment and activity options. Join a game of cards with friends in our fully-stocked game room, delve into a book from our extensive library or practice making those strikes during our Wii bowling tournament.
As part of our all-inclusive experience, our professional staff are available around the clock to provide regular housekeeping, linen changing and laundry services. Complimentary shuttle transportation to and from local destinations and appointments is also provided.
We understand that each individual is unique and that needs may change over time. Holiday does not provide any health care services. However, residents are welcome to receive services from any outside home health care provider of their choice to help them continue enjoying life at our community.
Point Defiance Village is a lovely senior living community located in one of Tacoma's most scenic neighborhoods. We invite you to come and experience the Holiday Touch for yourself.

Solstice Senior Living at Tacoma is where I'm going. I've already made arrangements. The tour was good. The girl who gave us the tour did a good job. She took us through the whole place, and she explained everything to us. She gave us a tour of about five to six rooms. They have remodeled the whole place. It is where I want to go. It was well done. The staff member, for someone that hasn't been there very long, was really knowledgeable. She was good. The place was beautiful. It has always been a friendly place and they have things to do and places to go. They have everything I need and if something happens, like if I get sick, I don't have to move.
Solstice Senior Living at Tacoma was a huge place, and in order to eat in the dining room, I would have to drive from my apartment to the main building, and it was all uphill and narrow straight ways. The apartment itself was not clean enough to suit me, they didn't have kitchens, they just have a tiny sink with faucet and refrigerator. They didn't have a stove, washer and dryer, and it has only one bathroom. They had all kinds of activities available, but you would have to drive your car to the main building for that. They had a huge dining room, and it was mandatory to dine there. The young lady that took us around was friendly, and she was nice, but the staff we saw when we toured around was not friendly.
Hello, Carolyn. We are very sorry to hear that your experience was unsatisfactory. We recently completed a large remodeling of our community that addressed a lot of your concerns. We hope you will reconsider Solstice Senior Living at Point Defiance in the future.
Solstice Senior Living at Tacoma was very good. The location was good, the cost was within my mother's budget, and everyone was friendly and really accommodating. The place was a little older but still in good shape.
I chose it because the apartment they offered me was on the ground floor with my own private entrance and I don't have to go up an elevator. The people are nice, my room is excellent, and I feel very pampered. They have Bingo, chess clubs, bean bag baseball, a store, Bridge club, and pool tournaments. The menu is good, but I have my little area that I can cook in. Everything is clean. I'm happy where I'm at.
