Description of The Harbor at Renaissance

The Harbor Memory Care Assisted Living serves residents with Alzheimer's and other memory care disorders in a beautiful country home-like setting. Rates are affordable and all amenities are included. We are conveniently located in historic Stanardsville at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The serene setting has all the peace and tranquility of the countryside, yet offers easy access to shopping, dining, medical facilities and other senior needs.

Our Mission is to serve the greatest generation with honor, respect, faith and integrity.

We offer studio and companion accommodations. Three "Eat Better" meals and snacks are offered daily. We have personalized service plans for each resident. Our building is a secured facility for wandering or exit-seeking residents. We offer an outdoor walking area with covered porch and garden area. We provide assistance with dressing, bathing and grooming and a daily exercise and physical fitness program. Medication management is included in the monthly rental rate for most residents. Activities include "Brain Better" cognitive stimulation and brain exercises. We offer family support groups. Our physicians are on-site on a regular basis to offer primary care services to our residents when needed. We partner with the University of Virginia for psychiatric care as needed. We provide pharmacy administrative/ordering services at no additional cost. Housekeeping, laundry and linen services are included in the monthly rental rate. Beauty and barber services available weekly.

Special Comment: At The Harbor, we focus on providing "A Purposeful Day" for our residents. Our caring staff is trained to value each resident and to recognize their different histories, current desires, and needs. We recognize that memory loss affects everyone differently, and that is why we develop a special service plan for each resident. "A Purposeful Day" utilizes the following therapies throughout each day: Reminiscence Therapy, Time and Place Therapy and Music Therapy. Each of these important non medication therapies become an integral part of every resident's Purposeful Day.
