I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm not real happy with Lakeshore Estates. There's a huge turnover in the staff. They're having trouble keeping people. They have bingo, pachinko, beanbag baseball, and balloon volleyball. There's no intellectual stimulation that I can see here. The food is better than it used to be because they hired a new chef. I like my apartment a lot. They have a beauty shop. There's not a lot amenity-wise. They used to have an exercise room, but they have taken that out. There is a bus, but we don't go to many places because of the pandemic. There are lots of available opportunities for concerts and so forth here, but they never arranged for those. The food is kind of hard to rate because we've got a new chef, and it used to be a 1. The meals are slow here. With the pandemic, we've been kept in our rooms. For those of us who get the meals delivered to our rooms, sometimes it's like 1:30 before we get lunch. This week, they had three activities, but there's not anything there that I'm really excited to go down for.

Lakeshore Estates was lovely. We saw a two-bedroom with two baths and a nice living area, kitchenette, and a beautiful deck. It's everything we want. The staff also showed me the one-bedroom. What I saw was really nice, and we need a two-bedroom. It was very lovely; that's why I want to go there so bad.

My father fell in love with Lakeshore Estates. It's very homey and very welcoming. His only complaint is rather than having a buffet, they have to wait to be served, which may take 45 minutes for him to get his meal. Otherwise, he's very happy there. Everybody is very nice and very helpful. He had a closet door that needed repair that they fixed right away. Any type of maintenance has been taken care of, and he's very pleased with it at this time. He has played their balloon volleyball, and he's the reigning bowling champion. They have a pool table, a movie theater, domino and card games. It's laid out very conveniently. It's not a long distance to the dining area or any of the participation areas.

Stilwell Retirement is really wonderful and feels like a real community. The staff members were very accommodating and it seems like a wonderful place to live. I like that the place didn't look very medical. The manager turned me over to Darci and Darci was excellent, and she took me through the whole place. I ate a meal there in the dining room and it was excellent. They have menus you can choose from ahead of time, and they also have several alternatives to accommodate your taste. They're a little bit low on activities, but I think that's because those people are independent so they come and go on their own. The apartment I saw looks good inside. They're also doing remodeling on the rooms as the people vacate.

My mother is in Brookdale Lake Brazos. The staff is very caring. The facility is a little older and doesn't have a lot of modern facilities, but it's still a very good place. They have daily exercise and daily activities, they go shopping once a week, and they eat out once a week. The food is fine. The rooms are pretty spacious and they're slowly being updated.

I am very impressed with this facility. They are not a medical model. Instead they specialize in community and socializing. The memory care has been great. I work for an agency that has patients there and I know without a doubt they are loved and taken care of. They really pay attention to wants, needs, and respecting their rights. I’m sure they are not perfect but everyone seems to care and work hard to make things the best possible for each person. It’s my favorite place to visit. Kinda like I’m part of their family too.

Lakeshore Estates is very nice and clean. It has a very nice atmosphere. I enjoyed the visit. The lady encouraged us, and it was very nice. The way they presented themselves to the way they welcomed you there. They don't talk you into anything like some places do. I saw their calendar of activities and their small kitchenette where residents can cook if they want to. However, we went after 2 p.m., so I didn't see anybody doing anything at that time. If it comes down to it, Lakeshore Estates would be the place I would choose.

My mom moved into Lakeshore Estates. She's very pleased with her apartment and she's very satisfied with her three meals a day. They have all kinds of recreation like volleyball and people coming in singing.

Lakeshore Estates was a nice place, but it wasn't really a good fit for us. They're an independent place and we had to upgrade to make it assisted living. They had some features that were very nice. They had the best lanyard of anybody I've come across. It had GPS and everything. It was an older building and the rooms had some interesting layouts. They had one elevator and it was broken for over three weeks.
