We moved my mother from another facility to Discovery Village a year ago and we’re very pleased with the care my mother received in memory care. The care and compassion she received from the staff was wonderful and it was evident they really care about their residents. We definitely recommend Discovery and even recently moved my in-laws into their assisted living.

I visited this facilityReview of Brookdale N. Fredericksburg Road

I have toured Brookdale N. Fredericksburg Road, and it was fantastic. They went way out of their way to get dad's business, and they did really well. I was really pleased with it, but the only issue was the cost. They offered me drinks. They were very adamant about their health procedures in protecting their patients and themselves, and I really appreciated that. They interviewed my dad and thought that assisted living was better for him than the memory care.

We visited The June, and the lady, Carrie Anne, was fantastic. The safety precautions were there and in place, and the residence was immaculate. I toured the whole facility and was given several options. Of course, the cost came into play. They had a lot of activities for them.

I visited this facilityReview of The Waterford at Thousand Oaks

The Waterford at Thousand Oaks is very affordable, nice, and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I saw both a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom, and I would definitely give both of them five stars. They were a nice size compared to everything I've seen. I saw activities going on, and they had a lot of options for interested people. I saw the dining room, the workout room, the library, and the craft room.

My sister is moving here. The staff is very helpful and very involved. The rooms are very spacious compared to some of the other ones I've seen. They don't have an exercise room, so that was one negative, but they hold exercise classes, so that wasn't a deciding factor for us. There are plenty of activities, and they have courtyards and a pool.

I visited this facilityReview of Independence Hill Retirement Resort Community

I'm ready to move into the Independence Hill Retirement Resort Community on the first of June. I saw it in person, put some money down, and signed the papers. I was in the fire department in that area years ago, and we used to make a lot of calls here for assisting elderly patients. We knew that it was a top-notch retirement home, so I had already been familiar with it. I liked the cleanliness, even the residents and the staff were all very friendly and said "hi," and the place is just marvelous. It looked like it has a great pool, a gym, and everything like that -- everything I needed. The staff is great, very professional, and very friendly, and I felt no pressure. I didn't eat, but the dining room was top notch, clean, and beautiful, with music and all that jazz.

I went to Madison Estates. It was nice, but the residents were of an older generation than the other place I went to. They're very friendly and helpful. The staff is great. It was a fairly good size and first class. I think they did have some transportation, and they did have meals. It felt homey.

I've talked to people at Madison Estates. The lady was so nice there, but my mom thinks it's a bit too expensive, and she didn't like the fact that the room was on the second floor. It's really nice. I liked the setup of the apartments. The sales rep was extremely encouraging. She said, "Even though your mom has dementia, she'll be fine here." She showed us around. I really loved the style of the senior apartment there, and I liked the fact that they check in on them. What I didn't like about Madison is it was so large; you need to be really independent to be in there.
