The food is nothing what Compass advertises. It says. Their dining experience will tickle your tongue with homemade meals made from scratch, healthy and delicious. The food they serve is frozen prepared cardboard, unhealthy, the cheapest they can buy. Very small portions and good luck on seconds. When you get it cold cold. They leave soiled trash in halls for 30mins on up and smells the hallway up. Med Techs only get 24 to 32hrs training and have our lives in their hands. Occasionally they will forget a pill or two and you ask, if you remember to find it needs reordered or they can\'t find it or the just plain forgot. We had caring staff and they got rid of them and became short staffed with now a wait time of 30 to an hour when you need help at times 2 care partners for 75 resident daytime and 1 at night. There is NO CARING AT COMPASS ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY.

The tour at Brookdale Geary Street was wonderful, and I loved it. The room size is good, it's a lot bigger than I thought they're going to be, they're like small apartments, they have kitchenettes, and it just depends on the size you choose, which was a studio for my dad. He has a little kitchenette, but he doesn't cook. They have quite a lot of stuff going on all the time, they have bingo, they had a superbowl party with snacks and had 2 rooms of big screen TV. They have music regularly, they have people that come in and play the piano for awhile, and it's beautiful and fun. They have a theater room with a big screen TV and lots of DVDs, they have a workout room with an exercise machine, they have a garden room with a kitchen in it and table, and people can have parties there if the family wants to have a party with them. They have a man cave with pool tables, they've got a little salon area, and they've got a beautiful dining room. It's really nice.

My wife is using Right at Home Cedar Rapids and it's been very good. The attitude of the staff is OK. They come in and ask what she wants, they ask if she will take a shower, and they help with some housekeeping, which involves changing and washing the linens. The agency keeps in contact with me and they keep a log to keep me informed of how things are going.

Garnett Place seemed cozy. The girl who showed us around was very nice. The apartment configurations would work. It's one we would put on our short list to consider. They had jigsaw puzzles.

My father was at Corridor Crossing Place for two weeks and three days. We were very happy with them but he requires more care than what they're able to provide now. The people were very friendly and helpful. There was a little bit of staff changing that caused a little bit of confusion as to who to talk to, but the manager was very helpful and tried to take care of things on a timely basis. They have activities held mid-morning and mid-afternoon that vary anywhere from playing games, doing puzzles, watching a movie, creating pictures and cards, so they were quite good with the variety of activities they were providing. There are a few things that they needed to improve on but they were working on them. The staff was excellent, and my father seemed to like the food.
