I visited this facility

The Amberleigh was nice. The staff was helpful and very nice. The apartments were nice. I saw an exercise room. The facility looked well maintained, and the bedrooms were good sized. Everything was clean.

I visited this facility

We looked at The Amberleigh. It's a beautiful and gorgeous place. There was a woman who came out and assessed my mom. They were very professional and very nice. We looked at a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, a bedroom, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. The assisted living and the memory care units were identical. They were beautiful, large, and very nice. They had game rooms, social rooms, a craft room, and a music room. They had a lot of activities and a lot of things going on. The place is nice, but their assisted living is on the second floor. From your room you have to go down to the first floor to eat, which is not ideal for us. They said they would take her from her room down to eat and back again, but it is a concern. The memory care unit is right on the same floor as the dining room and the activities room. The assisted living wasn't ideal for my mother, but the memory care would have been.

I visited this facility

I visited the Amberleigh. The lady I spoke with was very nice, the place was very clean, and very inviting; it looked like a very nice facility, and location wise, it was great. I saw the lobby of the facility, but since it was not full service, my mother wouldn't fit in.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad has been a resident of Elderwood Village at Bassett Park. So far his care has been excellent. The food is excellent, which is important to us. There are a lot of selections, which makes him happy and content. They're helping him with medication management, which is also great. The place itself is clean. It is not a large community, which is what I was looking looking for, because I was afraid my dad would get overwhelmed. It is enough to feel very welcome, homey, and to get to know everybody there. My dad is a little older, but they go and get him when it is dinner time. They have some nice activities, like they just had a Canadian Thanksgiving there the other day. There are lots of activities. My dad has a studio type apartment. They have a theater room where they show movies and sport games. They do exercises, and they have a big TV room. They also have an activity room and an outside area where they have barbecues. They have a large dining room that looks like a restaurant.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Brookdale Williamsville is very nice, but a slight downgrade as far as cleanliness from the facility that Mom was in, but it's still good. The staff seems very cooperative. They're constantly trying to keep them busy, but they need to do a better job with people who get up at night. They need to have more activities when they get up at night and allow them to stay up and then get tired rather than just trying to put them back in their rooms. Her room is just average. The dining area is very homey, very nice, and very efficient. The food is pretty good, and she's comfortable there.
