This facility keeps patients against their will. Some staff members are true angels but my grandfather has been asking to check himself out for at least a week and he is still there even though we have home care in place. They will not provide a discharge date so we can have our live-in aide ready to go so no matter what we will have to scramble. The food is cold and inedible. They promise a shower but it keeps getting put off. Thank god we visit daily because I can’t imagine how much worse this would be.

HORRIBLE. Staff is rude and lazy. Supervisor’s are useless and social workers are rude and arrogant. The only person who ever seemed to care was The concierges. Would NEVER recommend this place for an animal let alone a human being.

My mother stayed at Glengariff. The facilities were overall in good condition, except for some elevators that were continually out of service, which made it hard on the patients. My biggest concern was that there was insufficient staff members to help with requests for medicine, the ability to have a doctor check on my mother, and other kinds of very common requests. It took a long time to happen. She was not even seen by a medical doctor for more than two weeks after she moved in. She also struggled getting fed on time, getting medications on time, and getting toiletry needs met on time. The only real positive thing I would say about this place was that the actual physical therapy experts on staff were very good. My mother liked them very much. It felt like she got help with her injury needs. However, if you were just there looking for basic medical continuity, it would not be a place we would recommend. They need management to pay better attention to the staff and to the patients. They appeared to be struggling to provide sufficient help.

I think Sunrise of Glen Cove is marvelous. My mom moved in August. We have had a very nice experience with the caring staff. I'm blessed. I'm so glad that I picked Sunrise. The food looks very good. The soup doesn't look like a consomme. I like Sunrise of Glen Cove. The floor is nice and not very big which I like. I don't have an issues at all. They spoke to me like a family member and give me encouragement and education. All of the staff members are the sweetest, most caring people. I always tell them they're doing God's work because they're great. In the beginning, I was concerned with the activities because I think they were short-handed. Two weeks later, they hired two more women. I think the activities are definitely a 5. They keep residents so busy. The other day, my mom made paper flowers and was putting them in vases. Also they have played Wheel of Fortune, bingo, and my mom helps them water their gorgeous flowers on their patio outside on the third floor. They keep them busy and that's what I wanted. I think it is also fairly priced.

I visited this facilityReview of The Regency Assisted Living

The Regency building was nice, but we didn't choose this place because the list for Medicare was too long. The place looked modern, clean, and well kept. The staff members I met were very nice and helpful, had a lot of information, were very knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. They had a pretty extensive meal menu. I would recommend checking out the community and seeing if it's an appropriate fit.
