My mom was in Solstice Senior Living. We ended up renting a studio for her. It was small, but it was clean, and it was perfect. There was no edge on the tub so she could get in and out, the bathroom was large enough, and we could set up her walker, but when she moved in she was in really bad shape. There was a tiny refrigerator and a tiny kitchenette, but everything was right there. The laundry room was a couple of doors away, everything was indoors, and the dining room was very nice. The staff was great. It was pricey like you would expect, because you get all these services, but you can pay for services as needed. Unfortunately, they don't take insurance, but you can have your own insurance covered. They have free transportation as long as you set up stuff ahead of time. It was really for someone with limited abilities who still wants to live independently. She even had a little backdoor patio overlooking some woods in the ravine. I was really pleased with it. The facility is very nice; it's like walking into a very nice hotel. The lobby is beautiful, there's a lot going on there, there's decorations, they have an upstairs, a downstairs, and an elevator. Part of the rent is a button, like a life alert button, so no matter where you are, even if you're off-site, they can ping your button to find out where you were. That was something I thought was excellent about Solstice.

Solstice Senior Living at Fairport was a bit expensive, but it's very big and they had a lot of amenities. They had a nice cafeteria and a piano player when I was there. The two-bedroom was very spacious, and it had a kitchenette, a microwave, and central air.

The fellow at Solstice Senior Living at Fairport was very genial. It looked very accommodating. It was eye opening. They mentioned the activities, but there was no demonstration. They have a free ride service to the hospitals or to doctors' appointments, a weekly visit to the grocery stores, and some of the cultural events, music, and drama that were available.

It was a really nice senior living place. The people there were wonderful and they took the time to answer any questions that we had. They had a lot of wonderful activities which keep the people really busy. There's like 20 activities going on from Monday to Friday. The lady who took us on tour was very pleasant and sweet.

I like it because it is able to provide the level of care that my father-in-law needs. It is also close to our work, so we are able to check in on him multiple times. They have daily activities, such as arts and crafts, baking, and music. They have a pool table and a courtyard where they could sit outside and enjoy the weather. They serve three square meals and snacks all day. They have shuttle service and housekeeping. The staff call us if they think that there's something we need to be aware of.

I needed help for my aging mother. I reached out for help online and they were the most accommodating. I was able to visit on a weekend because they have the live in managers. The staff was very friendly and made my mother feel at home. The apartments where large and had a balcony. I have my mother there now and feel that she is well taken care of. She loves the food and likes the activities. She has a car but has not used it since she moved in because she is taking advantage of the bus service. I wish we would have moved her there years ago.
