I thought The Woodmark was very snobbish, like they were looking for upscale people with more money. The staff needs to be friendlier. They were very cold and unfeeling. I saw a small, unfurnished studio, it was way down the hallway, and it reminded me of a Las Vegas Casino.
Everything has been very nice at The Woodmark at Uptown. My father-in-law is still adjusting, but that's part of the adjustment phase. Other than that, the amenities are good. The employees are always very positive and friendly when they address my father-in-law. Even when they address us, it is always in a very positive tone, very friendly, and very welcoming. The residents all seemed to be very happy. At least the ones we have interacted with, they put out a very positive attitude about the community. There are very many activities for my father-in-law to participate in and a variety of activities so he is able to pick and choose and do the ones that he enjoys. The community looks clean and up to par. The food is amazing and he enjoys it. In the two weeks that he has been there, he has put on a little bit of weight.
Our tour went great, the services that are offered would be good for our mom. We liked hearing about the longevity of the staff. The woman that toured us has been working there for at least 8 years. The only complaint I have is we hard a hard time finding a place to park. We drove around the parking lot a few times without any luck. We weren't going to stop but then we found a place to park down the road.

This is usually not a problem, but we are an active community with a lot of volunteers, outside agencies, and entertainers who also come to visit. I love this facility. I had a loved one in there, and was way impressed with how clean it is. I'm a friend of the boss there Jeremy Deatry, and though he is young he is energetic and willing to sit down listen to your concerns, and come up with a solution to them. The rooms are beautiful, and I love how there is a intermediate level of care unit, and an advanced unit as well. All and All-- the facility is in a nice area, next to upscale shopping, and the most gorgeous facility I think in the state.
