At our historic community you will discover a maintenance-free lifestyle that supports your desire to remain independent and active. And our location in the Waldo neighborhood puts you near the Kansas City Zoo, The Country Club Plaza and the Starlight Theater.
Armour Oaks Senior Living Community is a locally owned and operated senior living community. We are the oldest continuous operating not-for-profit senior living community in Kansas City. All of our staff and Board of Directors share a commitment to a person-centered approach when caring for our residents.
Featured Amenities
We offer a variety of floor plans to meet our residents' lifestyle requirements. From cozy studios to two-bedroom floor plans, each new resident will find the perfect floor plan to call home. We even have two-bedroom garden villas. Apartment features include in-suite climate controls, an emergency call system, a washer/dryer, full a full kitchen and closets. All utilities (except telephone and Internet) are included in your monthly rent. Best of all, small pets are also welcome to join our community.
Every day at Armour Oaks we offer a variety of activities including games, special interest groups, social events, and religious studies. Residents are also found chatting with friends or hosting family in the many gathering areas around the community. There are also walking trails through our landscaped grounds for when residents want a breath of fresh air.
Available Services
Every day our residents are treated to delicious meals served restaurant-style in the community dining room, and every morning a continental breakfast is served for our residents. We also provide scheduled transportation for errands and medical appointments. Weekly housekeeping will keep your apartment ready for drop-in visitors.
As your healthcare needs evolve, we have the staff and services available to support your independence, which means you won't have to leave home. For each resident we will craft a care plan that outlines the level of service we will provide with activities of daily living. For added peace of mind, there are RN/LPNs on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

I visited this facility
Armour Oaks was very nice, clean, and smelled good. One thing that bothered me was there weren't any activities. The people I saw who lived there looked like they were 100 years old. I'm looking for a place with a lot of activities and stuff going on. Dallas, the administrator, was wonderful and I liked him best. The dining room was very elegant and the menu looked fabulous and high class.

I visited this facility
We really like Armour Oaks and its environment. It's a smaller community, so it is easier to get to know people. It is very nice. I would move there. I was very impressed with it, however, it's hard for us to finance it for our grandmother. The staff was very kind, very nice, and accommodating. They answered all of our questions. The room was very nice and almost set up like an apartment. It had granite countertop, new light fixtures, and a sunroom, so it was very impressive. They have a library, a movie area, and places for people to congregate. They have a dining room area and a nice water fountain in the front where people can sit if they want to go outside. There are elevators, the hallways are long, and there are railings for people. Those were very good. They have lots of things for people to do. They also bring in people to entertain the residents.
