place is a living nightmare! The Therapy and Dialysis folks are wonderful. Wound care they have no idea what they are doing. Poorly staffed. Do not use purewick for incontinent patients. Call button never answered patients screaming 20 minutes and never received help my love one was one.

Sunrise of Des Peres was OK, but I wasn't really crazy about the rooms. I wouldn't have really felt comfortable with my mom there. I couldn't see her in one of those rooms. They were claustrophobic. The one-bedroom ones were like two equal sized rooms side by side, and either one could have been the bedroom or the living room. I just wasn't crazy about the building itself and it didn't seem like it was a large enough facility to have a lot of amenities. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. I had no issues with the person who gave us the tour.

We chose Sunrise of Des Peres for Mom. It’s wonderful, everybody is so nice, their food is so good, and her room is really nice. They do everything for her, they give her medicine, they cook, and they do her laundry. We looked at four or five others, and this is the last one we looked at, and it’s just perfect. They even have a community dog, she just walks around, she’s so friendly, gentle, and sleeps a lot right in the main area. The residents enjoy that. They have a huge dining room, it was so cool there, one person comes around and takes your drink order, somebody else comes around, and they have appetizers. Everything you pay for, after that, somebody comes and takes your order for the main meal, it’s like a nice restaurant. We don’t have to worry about Mom. They have a snack place where they have homemade cookies, and they have a popcorn machine. Everybody is so nice, and everybody knows the residents’ name. She’s making friends. They have a nice covered area in front, they have a bench, rocking chairs on either side, and there’s plenty of room for two wheelchairs on either side. They have a big jug filled with ice water and cups. The residents can suit out there, it’s shady, and the grounds are so pretty, with trees and flowers. They have bird feeders everywhere, they have a gazebo in the front, two rocking chairs, and a table, and they have a wide sidewalk that goes around the building. You can go walking by yourself, or somebody can go with you. They’re just on top of everything. They have an exercise room, an activity room where they have a building box, crocheting, puzzles, and all kinds of different stuff. They have a prom night that Mom didn’t go to.

Sunrise of Des Peres is very clean. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The rooms are very clean and my wife has a studio apartment. The grounds are very nice. She gets her manicures done and does Bingo there.

The people of Sunrise of Des Peres are very nice and go out of their way to make us feel very comfortable. I have been very happy with them. The place is so sweet, and they honestly care about people. They took my mother on a tour; she is in a wheelchair, and they went out of their way to assist her. She has three meals a day, and can get snacks anytime she wants. They bathe her, change her, and talk to her. They know her by name, and everyone likes her.
