We began our quest into senior living because of our love for our beloved mother, Mary Bickford, whose needs became too great for us to manage. As we researched senior living options, we were shocked at our findings. The options offered too much or too little none met her needs and nothing felt like home. Since we couldn't find what we wanted, we decided to create what we needed. Our main desire was to create a place that helped her achieve an equivalent peace and happiness that she had earlier in her life.

We understand that selecting a senior living community for your loved one is one of the toughest decisions that you will ever face. We will work with you to ensure that the transition is as easy and comfortable as possible. Whether your loved one is at home, in the hospital or even in another state, we can work with your hospital, insurance company, and doctor to make your difficult decision easier on you and your family. Aging can be difficult but we've also seen the beauty in aging. Our mother's happiness inspired us. We created Bickford for her and now we're devoted to serving yours. Our residents enjoy the parlor with fireplace for visiting with neighbors or guests, our Mini Theater, Fitness Gym, Library, Beauty Salon, Arts & Crafts Studio, Cards & Game Gallery and Activity Room.  We also have an on site Mini Medical Clinic.

Our residents are very active.  They enjoy shopping trips, breakfast club and luncheons.

Our residents enjoy their evening meal seven (7) days per week in our on site restaurant.  Our chef provides an advance menu to allow residents to choose which days they want to eat in the restaurant.

Our residents can be comfortable that their guest may use the intercom system to call direct to their apartment.  Residents choose who to buzz in and who to not allow access to.  In addition, every apartment entry door has a privacy peek hole to ensure they recognize the person at their door.

What safety features or security measures does {provider.name} offer to independent living residents?

Numerous shopping locations, restaurants and banking.  Nearby shopping malls ( Lansing Mall, Meridian Mall) and near Michigan State University for sporting and arts events along with the Wharton Center for concerts, plays, etc.

What places are nearby for independent living residents to enjoy?

Monthly resident parties, shopping excursions, daily events to keep our residents active and entertained. 

What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at {provider.name} has organized?

We have a private bus that runs weekly trips for grocery shopping, local banks/credit unions, various shopping trips weekly and other resident off site events.

What transportation services does {provider.name} offer to independent living residents?

We love your fur babies!  With an extensive, well manicured landscape, there are plenty of areas to walk your dog outside.  Due to allergies and some residents being uncomfortable around dogs or cats, we ask that you do not take your pets into the common areas unless it is passing through to get to an outside area.

Our community enjoys the on site services offered by Angelic Heart Home Care & Hospice.  Their offices are located in our community along with a Mini Clinic in each of our buildings.  Any services needed should be arranged directly through their office.
