The rooms are okay, and the food is decent. The care is questionable. There is a high staff turnover, and the communication is lacking.

Rosehaven Manor was in the middle of making several improvements and upgrades. They had a fitness area, a library, and a calendar of activities. It's strictly independent living. They lease space to a homecare company, but they don't require you to take it. They had a cafeteria and a meal plan, but you're not required to do that. All of their apartments had appliances included. Each person is expected to be independent, but they have a program where they check on you. You put a tag on your door and someone comes by, you answer the door, and then they flip your tag.

My brother and sister-in-law have moved into Rosehaven Manor. My brother and sister-in-law have a two-bedroom apartment. It's very attractive and very nice. The grounds are beautiful. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. There are all kinds of activities; however, you can live there and not participate in anything if you want.

My brother-in-law has been at Landings of Genesee Valley for a year and a half now. I like the ambiance. It's not old, and it's painted in light colors, so it's not dark. They serve three meals a day.

I went and thought it was OK. It was a lot more tame, there wasn't a lot going on. It seemed to be nice enough, but it was very quiet. They showed me a model room, so it was not a really good depiction of what you'll be getting. It had a sterile environment and small dining areas that were sectioned off more, so it's more private. They had a la carte options, if you do not like what they offer for that day. They had various areas, nooks and crannies that you can hang out in. It was clean and OK.
