Hello, I\'m former nurse with an incomplete C 5/6 spinal cord injury. I use a power chair and until a few months ago had been able to live independently in my own home. My father lived within 15 mins, however he sadly passed from covid in Feb. It was at that time I decided to move closer to my sister in Kentucky. After choosing Wickshire Blankenbaker\'s I worked with them to coordinate a move. However, I unfortunately had health issues arise that not only made a move to Kentucky impossible, but also my ability to live independently now at all. I have tried and tried to communicate my circumstances to WB, but cannot get the lady to respond. In the mean time, they continue to debit $2100 rent from my banking account each month for a total of $10,500, plus an additional one time community fee of $3000. I just yesterday arrived back to an assisted living facility I\'m struggling to pay. I\'ve had three (3) week long and longer hospitalizations in 5 months. I\'m at my wits end. All I can do is cry.

The tour I had of StoryPoint Middletown was very good. They were able to show us everything: the library, the beauty salon, the dining room, a café, a bakery, a coffee shop, and an outdoor activity area. We saw one of the units in independent living, and it's not a detached unit. It's more like a little interior apartment. They had a recreation room with a bar in it, tables to play cards, and a big TV. They took us in there and introduced us to some of the other residents, and we got to talk to them.

Ponder Creek Estates was beautiful. Everything would've worked out great, but it was just too far away. The staff that I spoke with was fabulous. It's a great place. I saw a lot of people. The staff mentioned activities, but I didn't ask about them.

My mother has moved into Ponder Creek Estates. I like it for the most part. There was one incident where we dropped off some groceries for my mother, and they delivered them to the wrong person. Since the COVID, they won't let us go up to her apartment, so what we do, we have to take her groceries in, we leave them at the front desk, and they are supposed to deliver the groceries to her apartment. They delivered them to the wrong person, and that person accepted my mother's groceries. My mother's out about $72 worth of groceries, and they have not replaced anything. They haven't given her her money back; nothing. They are aware of what they've done, but they haven't corrected their mistake. I have issues about that of course. That's really the main thing at Ponder Creek. Everything else has been OK, but that one little time. So far, everyone has been pleasant. My mother hasn't told me anything about anyone being rude to her or mistreating her in any way, so I don't have any complaints about that. She is comfortable in her apartment. She likes that she has a balcony. She wishes she could come out of her apartment. She feels like she's in prison right now because she can't come out, and no one can come in, so she feels like she is locked away, and that her apartment is now her prison.
