The best way to get to know a community is by scheduling a tour. See the facilities, meet the staff and residents, and get a feel first hand what it's like to live at Richmond Place Assisted Living.

I live in Richmond Place. It's a nice place, and the staff for the most part is friendly. The meals are not good though. My room is clean and comfortable. They have a group that does personal services, and we have quite a few activities.
I'm currently staying at Richmond Place in Lexington, and it's been very disappointing to me. They don't even come by and make sure you're still alive each day; that's what disappointed me. I feel like they should. They delivered meals when COVID was really bad, but it has been gone out here, so they quit delivering meals. That means no one will come to your door to make sure you're still living. They have a pull-cord by the commode, but what if you're in the living room and you can't get there? That's my concern, because my heart is bad, and I would never make it from the living room to the bathroom. That's why I'm leaving. They've stopped the meal delivery, so if you don't feel like you can't go to the cafeteria and eat, then you're going to have to do your own meal. I'm staying in a one-bedroom, it's a nice size, and it's bigger than most apartments that you rent. Someone comes in once a week to clean it, and it's not bad that way. They do the upkeep for you. My major concern is that they don't check in the morning to see if you're OK. The staff do what they need to do, and won't do any more. They have bingo and some other things during the week, but to me, I just feel like I walked into a group, and they didn't want anybody else to come into their group. That's how I feel since I've been here. They've got their little cliques and they stay with them. What they don't do also is let you know that the activities have three levels here. Some of them take place and they don't give you anything that tells you what day, what floor, and what time it will take place. They don't walk you around when you get there. They put you in a room and you're responsible to find all the stuff out, no one helps you. The pricing, I would say it's worth what they charge.
Richmond Place came to visit me, and I was very impressed with how they were. I went to see them, and it's a wonderful place, far better than where I am. They had a full gamut of workers there. Everybody was kind and I was overwhelmed by how lovely everyone was. It's much different from where I am today. My room is going to be on the 2nd floor, and it will be a 1-bedroom. The whole place was lovely, very, very warm and welcoming. It was larger and warmer and more welcoming than where I am, and the people there were lovely. I was taken by the kindness and warmth of the young ladies that took me around. I can't say enough about it. I think they had a lot of activities there. I already had a sample of their dinners, and they were very, very nice. I truly am looking forward to the change. The place was just absolutely beautiful and had lots of amenities. They had everything. They had a wonderful and full staff. I was very impressed. The kindness of the young ladies was just unbelievable. They're sweet, kind, and warm, and the whole place felt like that.
We're satisfied with Richmond Place so far. We have no problems with this community other than that it's expensive. My mother's room there is nice and it's big enough. I haven't been there since we moved her in because they won't let us inside at this time. The communication with the staff members could be a little better, but so far it's OK. They're just not too good about returning phone calls. My mom says the food is good. They have an activity area and a beauty salon. The appearance of the place is good, it was clean, and there were no smells or anything. In terms of the value for the money the price was awfully expensive.
