Holiday Thornton Place

Thornton Place was very nice. I had an appointment, and they met me at the door, asked me questions about my situation, and took me on the tour. They had cottage style places, but they were all rented. I was shown three different styles of rooms, the dining, and their activities. The staff gave me an activity calendar and a monthly menu. It was very informative and the residents were very cordial. It was a very pleasant experience. I have nothing bad to say about it at all. The room was small and was like a hotel suite. They had two separate exercise places and a room set up for playing cards, board games or puzzles. They had multiple entertainment areas. The staff was very nice. Everybody was very pleasant. I was impressed that they had scheduled meals. They had a separate room where residents can get popcorn, fresh fruit, and snacks throughout the day. It seemed to be in very good repair and very clean, and the carpets were nice. I didn't see any place that needed attention.

I thought Thornton Place was a great place, but I don't think we are going to do anything right now. The place was clean and up-to-date. The rooms were nice. They showed us the calendar of activities. The staff members were very nice; they still keep in contact.

Thornton Place was really nice, very clean, and friendly. The staff who assisted me was great and took us through a walkthrough of both the three-story building and the cottages, pointed out the differences, and took us to the dining area, fitness gym, beauty shop, and home health. There were people working on puzzles, Bible study, and cards. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was very modern, efficient and set up for handicap accessibility.

We chose Thornton Place because it is warm and friendly, and the food is wonderful. The only activity I have been to is bingo, but there are other things which I will check on later. There are trips on a bus and we can use the bus to go to our doctors' appointments, and there's also a beauty shop. I have a 900 square feet 2-bedroom apartment with 2 baths.

Thornton Place was a very nice place but a little high priced. The apartments were kind of small, and I wasn't too happy with the heating and air conditioning set up. They had the wall units in each apartment, but they were in the living area and not in the sleeping area, so you had to leave your door open between your living area and sleeping area if you had a bedroom as opposed to studio. There's not great air circulation and I had concerns that it might be uncomfortable in more extreme weather. The food was good and the people were very friendly. The amenities were very good.

Thornton Place's people are very nice, but there's a lot of theft going on and they don't want to do anything about it so you have to watch every little thing that you have because they'll steal right out from under you. The food's wonderful. All the meals are very good and they do all kinds of chicken, pork, and salads. They play bingo and cards.
